Hearing and understanding

Hi Everyone;
Here I am with more questions. This concerns hearing and understanding. I don't understand if man can't hear and understand without God regenerating him then the multitudes that followed Christ around to listen to Him preach must have all been regenerated. In these verses below;

Mat 13:10 And the disciples came, and said unto him, Why speakest thou unto them in parables?
Mat 13:11 He answered and said unto them, Because it is given unto you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it is not given.
Mat 13:12 For whosoever hath, to him shall be given, and he shall have more abundance: but whosoever hath not, from him shall be taken away even that he hath.
Mat 13:13 Therefore speak I to them in parables: because they seeing see not; and hearing they hear not, neither do they understand.
Mat 13:14 And in them is fulfilled the prophecy of Isaiah, which saith, By hearing ye shall hear, and shall not understand; and seeing ye shall see, and shall not perceive:
Mat 13:15 For this people's heart is waxed gross, and their ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes they have closed; lest at any time they should see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and should understand with their heart, and should be converted, and I should heal them.

It seems that for some reason Christ didn't want them to hear and see and be converted.
My question is if man couldn't hear and understand because of Adam's sin then why did Christ have to speak in parables to keep them from understanding?

The answer to your question is contained in the same chapter of Matthew verses 34,35. But don't stop there, continue to verses 51 and 52. Matthew 13

10. Then the disciples went up to him and asked, "Why do you talk to them in parables?" 11. In answer, he said, "Because to you is granted to understand the mysteries of the kingdom of Heaven, but to them it is not granted. 12. Anyone who has will be given more and will have more than enough; but anyone who has not will be deprived even of what he has. 13. The reason I talk to them in parables is that they look without seeing and listen without hearing or understanding. 14. So in their case what was spoken by the prophet Isaiah (Is 6:9,10) is being fulfilled: "Listen and listen, but never understand! Look and look, but never perceive!" 15. This people's heart has grown coarse, their ears dulled, they have shut their eyes tight to avoid using their eyes to see, their ears to hear, their heart to understand, changing their ways and being healed by me. 16. `But blessed are your eyes because they see, your ears because they hear! 17. In truth I tell you, many prophets and upright people longed to see what you see, and never saw it; to hear what you hear, and never heard it.

34. In all this Jesus spoke to the crowds in parables; indeed, he would never speak to them except in parables. 35. This was to fulfil what was spoken by the prophet: (Psalm 78:2)"I will speak to you in parables, unfold what has been hidden since the foundation of the world."

(to his disciples) 51. `Have you understood all these?" They said, "Yes." 52. And he said to them, "Well then, every scribe who becomes a disciple of the kingdom of Heaven is like a householder who brings out from his storeroom new things as well as old."
