is hell real? will there really be people that will end up there? if it's God's will that everyone be saved and go to heaven, why would he teach us about hell? a non-christian friend of mine said 'it's a scare tactic'...

It is true that it is God's will that none should perish. It is also true that many will not conform themselves to God's will. Does that mean that man is more powerful than God? Not in the least. It means that many men will not take advantage of God's free gift of Salvation, and will miss everlasting life of their own doing, because God made everlasting life available to all who will accept it! The choice is ours!

Yes, it is real. God does not lie in order to scare anyone. There's no love in that, no holiness, no mercy.

As for your last question - that is a really good question. Really good. What do you think?

Fiery Hell is real - the 2nd death lake of fire is real. The Rev 14:10 torment takes place FULLY IN the presence of the LAMB and the SAINTS see the whole thing as Rev 14 points out and as Johnathan Edwards affirms on that chapter.

IT is all very very real!!

And Christ tells the truth in Matt 10 where He says that REAL bodies are REALLY destroyed there along with REAL souls REALLY destroyed there!

    In Christ,

    Bob

    Hello inpeace.

Hell is everlasting conscious punishment with torment thrown in for good measure.
It cannot be a scare tactic because God says that man cannot obey Him. Rom 8:7. But He might use it to bring in some of the sheep.

    Hello Wes.
    Told you. Luke 16:19-31.

Rev 14:10 he, too, will drink of the wine of God's fury, which has been poured full strength into the cup of his wrath. He will be tormented with burning sulfur in the presence of the holy angels and of the Lamb. 11 And the smoke of their torment rises for ever and ever. There is no rest day or night for those who worship the beast and his image, or for anyone who receives the mark of his name."

Niether does He lie when He says He so loved the world that He gave His only Son...

    Yes, hell is real.

    good question.

I think that many Arminians are a bit caught on the principle that God is too nice to do such a thing. After all He so loved the world did He not?

I think you deliberately attempt to undercut what Arminians believe by making outrageous FALSE statements like that!

I know of no Christian who does not believe God is JUST, and will mete out punishment in accordance with his own will.

    Hello Wes.
By what right do you teach that Hell will pass away?
Is it because you do not like the idea or what?

The scriptures indicate that when God is through with THIS present creation and causes it to pass away, there will be no need for a "hell" in the new creation. In revelation 20 we see that all the "dark side of the force" are cast into the lake of fire! They will not be part of the New Creation. If they are not part of the New Creation, what is the necessity for a Hell?
The Second death is a "final death", the cessation of existance for those who are cast into the lake of fire.

Hell is Lake of fire and is composed of “fire and brimstone” – “eternal fire”.

Eternal fire is what consumed Sodom and Gomorrah – they are exhibited as a perfect example of the “punishment of eternal fire”
Sodom and Gomorrah were Destroyed by “fire and brimstone”. So eternal fire is composed of fire and brimstone and the “destruction” it causes is exhibited by Sodom and Gomorrah.

The Lake of Fire is composed of “fire and brimstone” (The ultimate exhibit of the “punishment of eternal fire”.) This is the “second death” which is the punishment for sin “The wages of sin is death but the gift of God is eternal life”

    Death is ended.
"The last enemy that shall be destroyed is death." (1 Cor. 15:26)

The Lake of FIRE IS the 2nd death Rev 20:18 – So it too ends.

The wicked are “consumed” they are “destroyted”.
Rev 20:9 “Fire DEVOURED the wicked”
Rev 11:18 “Destroy those who Destroy the earth”
2Thess 1:9 The wicked pay the “penalty of eternal Destruction”

    Ps 21:8-10 “devoured” – “Destroyed”

    Hello Wes.

Explain please why there will be no rest day or night for those who worship the beast and his image, or for anyone who receives the mark of his name.
Rev 20:10 And the devil, who deceived them, was thrown into the lake of burning sulfur, where the beast and the false prophet had been thrown. They will be tormented day and night for ever and ever.

    john.
