    Heylo chaps and chapettes,

This is my first post over the Board here, probably coz I only joined yesterday, heh, so I thought I'd introduce myself.

My name's Mark, funny that really - I presume many of you had already figured that but I thought I'd tell you anyway just in case you hadn't. I'm 19 which is quite a cool age if you're a Civvie, but I'm blessed not to be in that position.

Thanks to the will of the Father I've been able to fulfil my greatest ambition which was to join Her Majesty's Royal Navy as an Officer. So, I'm now at Britannia Royal Naval College in the United Kingdom studying to be a Naval Officer.

Yeah, so OK, I'm missing out on quite a lot of things, but on the other hand I'm also getting a load of stuff that no Civilian would be able to.

The thing I miss most is my Church - Gilcomston South in Aberdeen - because I'd only become a full member not long before leaving. I also miss my Christian friends - there're a large percentage of people in the Navy who don't have a Faith, or have a very...hmmm...diluted Faith. Although, saying that, I have found it really cool to get to the College Chapel and meet the Christians that there are here. One of the highlights of the week is a Sunday, heh.

Hmm...yeah, well, I have a cat back home, so I'm not really a dog person, in fact, not at all.

My fave programmes are (hides slightly and coughs) Star ::cough:: Trek and Fawlty Towers, Father Ted, Friends and loads of other comedies. I'm quite a huge Comedy fan, having just been to see Bruce Almighty I'd recommend it - just don't go in with a closed mind, it's funny if you take it with a pinch of salt.

Yeah...that's all I really want to say right now but I have no doubt I'll disclose more personal information over time, heh. D'oh, what was it the Internet Guidelines said again!?! Oh yeah, HUGE Simpsons fan.

    Yours Aye,

    Mark [IMG]

    Mark,

God bless with your service to your country! I don't envy you being out to sea! Seek out other growing Christians on your vessel and continue to grow in your relationship with God. Look to see where God is working around you and who knows what spiritual victories you will experience and you serve your country. You are in my prayers!

Hi everyone [IMG] I'm pretty new here myself(as of last night) but I guess I'm making quite a splash already....I'm 18 years old and I love to discuss the Bible-sound doctrine especially related to a Reformed Baptist/Prebyterian(old fashioned, that is) point of view. Anything you want to discuss? Let me know. Here's a good verse.... [IMG]

oops...I wonder what happened, lol. Here's the verse(ok ok, so it's versES):

Joh 1:12 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:
Joh 1:13 Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.
Joh 1:14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.
