I'm bummed out. I was headed to see my favorite impressionist, but i was unable to make my Van Gogh.

Sorry to be "serious" in a light-hearted thread, but which words are the homonyms? I bet it's something obvious, but ...... ahh yes!! I've just remembered that although most Brits pronounce the artist's name as "Van Goff", you Americans say "Van Go"! :BangHead:

Apparently, both are wrong. I came across this description of how the Dutch artist's name should be pronounced:

In fact, most Dutch people pronounce his surname along the lines of vun KHOKH (-v as in vet, -u as in bun, -kh as in Scottish loch) or fun KHOKH (-f as in fit, -u as in bun, -kh as in Scottish loch).

Wee herd sum cows to pastor and boy did it reign and reign until it feeled the pond clear fool to almost flooding stage. But all was whale, because we had a grate teem with us!
