  1. Well I thought younger :( your spelling and grammar needs alot of work. If you want people to take you seriously and show you more respect you need to work on that. I know a lot of kids today write like they are doing shorthand as a court reporter. But in the long run it will hurt them greatly.

I own and breed horses. I have loved horses since the day I was born, so much I use to ride our great danes since we had no horses. I was able to work with horse for five years ages 18-22. Then for 13 years nothing, as I was a brand new Christian, and God had closed all the doors. I didn't own my first horse till I was 34, that is when he had opened the doors up again without me even looking to get back into it.

Anyway I do agree it is a lot of work and above all else you should have a lot of knowledge. not just head knowledge but HANDS on knowledge !

I do not agree that it is as involved as Helen said it is. Most people including myself do not go out every day to groom and clean feet. My horses all have automatic water. And feeding for 8 horses twice a day takes maybe 15 minutes total. I use a quad and drive around, and all the feeder tubs are right by the fences.
I do my own shots and worming, which I order by catalog which keeps prices down. Although you will not be able to give your own shots. Worming but not shots. I rarely ever need a vet since I do preventive maintence and have excellent FENCING ! I have my horses feet trimmed every 2 to 3 months, as that is when they need it up here. We only have one riding horse, the others are broodmares, babies or yearlings. $25.00 for trimming. And I'm in Ca. And yes tack can be expensive.

Unless you have lots of family support ( I personally wouldn't depend so much on neighbors unless you do have a great neighbor and can do some bargining )I would seriously look at trying to find ways outside of owning one, like cleaning stalls, or finding friends with horses. Just so you can get that experence. You and your horse in the future will be better for it.

Rightfromwrong like my sister said when we were still living in Arizona the teacher that she had never taught her the right way to spell things. When shee had a word wrong the teacher wouldnt do anything about it. By the way how old do you think I am?

  10. You are much better in writing and have a much better attitude. I am not dealing with a split personality am I ? You both are sisters right ?

I don't know much about horses, but I have a niece who has loved horses all her life.

She worked and trained horses while in college and now has her degree in the care and training of horses. (not sure the exact title of her degree). She did not own her own horse until after she graduated and went to work.

She works and trains horses for a children's camp. It is a lot of work. She now owns two horses and she checks, feeds, grooms, rides those horses at least twice a day.

It sounds like you, horses and Ashleigh, know what you want, but it is a good suggestion to work for someone else for awhile.

Because you are so young you may want to study, read, and learn all you can about horses. By the Way, my niece graduated first in her high school class and with honors from college.

So you are doing well to learn all you can.

Also, I admire you both for learning to type, write, and spell.

I didn't learn to type until I was 15 years old and you know what, the typewriter was not even electric. And spelling? Oh dear, my high school English teacher said if I didn't learn to spell, I would never make it through college.

She must have made an impression because I had no trouble with spelling in college.

Another thing, grownups are not being rude when they try to give you advice from their experience. You can really learn from them also.

In fact, I am still learning. ;)

i have been kind of working for someone, he is the one with the horse. No pay but i do not mind! his barn is filled with cats, infact that is where we got our kitten! She was the runt, and there was no way she would have made it. Now she is real healthy, but she still needs to put alittle meat on those bones, but she is doing much better!
