Jesus also said let the dead bury the dead. Are you trusting Jesus, or human understanding? Do you know that in this US shutdown, funerals ceased? Now they may resume, life may eventually get back to normal. But should we really dismiss all these signs and pretend they did not happen?

NOT if they are trusting in keeping the Sabbath, or heeding EW will get them there!

Nope, its the scriptures alone that determines if a church and christian stays right with God!

The Holy Spirit gave to me the scriptures, not the false revelations of EW!

The false Gospel is what EW taught, as she denied the true one of Pauline Justification!

There are saved Catholics and Sda members, saved not due to their church doctrines, but by Grave of God, and they need to come out of there!

Jesus taught that false doctrine and false teachers hinder the entry of the lost into the Kingdom of God, Matthew 23:13. Those that say otherwise have been blinded by the god of this world, IMHO. (2 Cor. 4:4) Scripture says study to show oneself approved (2 Tim. 2:15), so those who study commentary and believe the traditions of men are missing the boat.

The OP topic was how do we "test the spirits" to see if they are "of God" because many false prophets have gone out into the world, 1 John 4:1. If a lost person cannot discern truth from scripture, as some falsely teach, then the lost have no chance to hold the bogus claims of people up to the Light. When we look down our long and pointy noses at Catholics and Calvinists, we should be mindful that but by the grace of God goes us. Ditto for Catholics looking at non-Catholics and Calvinists looking at non-Calvinists. See how we are led astray?

Calvinists teach the truth of Pauline Justification, while Rome and sda do not!

One rule I have for true doctrine is scripture must harmonize... If scripture contradicts itself then, the false interpretation is in the reader and not the word of God... Scripture must also be rightly divided, don't wrest scripture to your own understanding, scripture interprets itself... If scripture is not revealed, it is concealed and wait on the Lord for true understanding... As far as reading the writings from other followers of the Lord... I always use this scripture as a guideline... Brother Glen:)

2 Timothy 2:7 Consider what I say; and the Lord give thee understanding in all things.

Sound advise, as both Joseph Smith and ellen White fail those tests!

Non germane deflection, asserting that if I have it right at one place, it suggests infallibility. Nonsense.

I think this is the primary problem in the Church today. And not just "others," but most. And because of loyalty to favorite teachers and preachers, the reaction is usually hostility if you disagree with something someone holds to or teaches. It all comes down to being able to verify from Scripture the doctrine you hold to.

    God bless.

Salvation is a matter of believing the Gospel and embracing Christ as Savior, recognizing that He died in your stead. Do you think there are any Seventh Day Adventists that do that?

    God bless.

I'll let you brethren fight those battles, they are of no interest to me... Brother Glen:)

Proverbs 3:5 Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.

3:6 In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.

Paul stated that the natural, as in unsaved sinner, does not and cannot receive with understanding spiritual things of God!

To have the real and right Gospel, must have Pauline Justification, and the sda do not have that!
