Do you consider yourself an Arminian or other?

    I voted no, but would have voted "not sure" if it was an option. ;)

    Hi everyone;
    Praise God I'm a born again Christian. It is Christ that I follow. I follow no man especially dead men although I may be dead someday myself.
    May Christ Shine His Light On us all;

    Another thread talks about 'you can't be neither'. [IMG] I'm neither. [IMG]

    I hold to the election based on foreknowledge portion of Arminianism

    I tend to lean towards that too. It is one theology that would work. It leaves no contradictions too scripture as calninism seems too. And you don't have to do all those scripture gymnastics with God's word. ;)

[IMG] </font>
No but I reckonize that strawman as one of belonging to calvinist. My bible tells me though that Christ died, for all...that He calls to all and that He would have all to be saved. Which contradicts a theology that says God died for a few, the rest can go to hell and, oh yeah just kidding about calling upon me. YOu don't have the ability. ;)

    Anyway, how would you explain "election based on foreknowledge", if "He chose us because we first chose Him" doesn't do it?

    </font>
If I being God said that in the plan I would die for human kind, pay the price for thier sin and only those who accept that payment will be saved, those are the ones my blood is effective for. Since I know who will and they are not born yet I am chosing for them a way to be saved. They cannot chose this because they are not born yet but they will chose ME. Let it be clear that it is I who have chosen to make away. Their is nothing fallen man can do to save himself. He cannot will a way by forceing me or living a good life or anything else. I lay it down freely. I know who are mine before they are even born because I am God. NOw wich one of these things is not possialble with God? Does He not know all, see all and is everywhere?

According to your view God first foresaw our choice of Him, and then because of that foreseen choice He freely chose to save us, right? I don't see why you object to what I said.

    i'm baffled that 2 people actually called themselves arminian. I haven't met a single arminian myself that would admit to the title. in fact, when I was an arminian i would have rejected it too. Now that i'm a calvinist- i realize that i WAS indeed an arminian.
