Reference books- I can see the added convenience of having them digitally...provided that there are provisions for easier searching.

    But I still prefer paper.

Good idea as 10 years ago palm os books were common and today are dead. Kindle may be dead in 10 years.

What's great is that my books aren't only stored on my Kindle but on the Amazon cloud as well. I gave my old Kindle to my daughter and got my new one - and it took very little time to download all of my content. My guess is that in 10 years, Kindles will be different but my content will still be there. :)

Good point. I should look in to the free offerings.

I might have only 30 books w/ me here in Honduras. Maybe 40?

My library back in the States is pathetically small. I'm ashamed, but I'm also poor so...

This is why I love libraries!

Small library is nothing to be ashamed of. Virtually every one of my books was purchased over a decade ago, and they're in boxes in the basement because I don't use most of them anymore. So I may as well not even have them.

I use about a half dozen of my books, none of which I would desire to part with.

And my income is minuscule compared to what it was back then, so I couldn't afford to spend thousands per year like I used to. It was really foolish of me to buy all those books anyway, considering that most never got opened again after one reading.

You are so right about libraries, which borrow from each other. Just get the ISBN, and they can track it down and borrow it

Andrew Murray books are free and RC Sproul has a series of books called Crucial Questions (there are about 13 books in the series) that are free as well. Sign up for things like Gospel E-books and you'll get e-mails regularly that will fill you in on what's for free or very low priced.

Are you planting a church, or doing missionary work there?

And if you get the "required" absolute text books, think the real number would be less then we really think we would need!

Thanks for bringing that to our attention; I just picked that up.

BookBub also scans for free and low priced e-books and sends out emails daily.

Unfortunately I "purchase" more free stuff than I'll ever read - but it's there for the taking.

How many books do I have? Three.

A cook book, phone book and a check book.

I did have a 4th book but loaned it out and never got it back. Actually, the guy who borrowed it died and his wife tossed it. She was Catholic.

...yeah Rolf. I didn't include the Bible. My bad. Have several of them all over the house so I'll bump it up to about ten or twelve books total.

The most important book in the universe and I leave it out.

...yep, too much coffee so early in the morning. :wavey:

I've gotten so many books that my husband has now asked if I have a book before he buys one. He's been able to use them for his study and sermon preparation. :)
