This applies to both demonized people/animals (those possessed by a spirit of evil, normally called demons or devils), and demonic attacks on yourself as a believer (who cannot become possessed but can become influenced by demons with thoughts of negativity, hate, sexual lust, etc. etc.)

In my experience and what I have read in my Bible, there are a number of ways to discern when a demonic presence is active around you.

For the Demonized, here are some ways to tell that this person is suffering from demonic spirit(s):
    1. Denies Christ as having come in the flesh Scripture Support: and every spirit that does not confess that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is not of God. And this is the spirit of the Antichrist, which you have heard was coming, and is now already in the world. (1 John 1:3) This would also include refusing to acknowledge Jesus Christ as Lord, but mainly it means that the demons do not trust in Jesus as their LORD and SAVIOR and do not acknowledge him as their master.
    2. Displaying utter hatred and/or fear toward God. Statements such as saying 'Your God is trying to destroy me.' (From personal experience working in a maximum security prison I have seen a demonized man say this on camera while he was in a confined cage) Other things like cursing and swearing in God's name is a sure sign they are either demonized or being influenced by demonic spirits. Likewise they will also display great fear and fright toward God and fear death of the body they are possessing since after their vessel is dead they are likely sent back to Hell Scripture Support: And behold, they cried out, “What have you to do with us, O Son of God? Have you come here to torment us before the time?” (Matthew 8:29) Due to the demons having this hatred and great and trembling fear before God, they cannot hide their hate or their fear of Him and will often times say this a lot, especially in front of a believer who they probably think is going to cast them out in Jesus' name.
    3. Use scripture wrongly. This is a big one. ESPECIALLY when they are talking with a believer or to an unbeliever who is asking about God or some such thing. I believe a demonized person can twist scripture by any means, by talking, by writing, by anything that we interpret. They will always misuse scripture, they will either take it out of context, add a different context that doesn't apply, add their own "wisdom" to scripture or just completely misuse it. I've had a demonized man quote verses perfectly to me but apply the scripture out of context. All demons know the Bible and what it says, and that is why they are so, SO crafty and that is why we as believers should memorize scripture, study it, put it on our hearts, that is why now I am asking the Lord to help me put the scripture in my head and heart so I will be ready to rebuke and correct these spirits and have them flee before the Truth of Christ- just as Jesus did with Satan in the desert. Scripture Support: Luke 4:1-14 + Matthew 4:1-11
    4. Supernatural Knowledge of a Person, Place, Thing, Language and/or Special/Supernatural Talents not before known by the demonized person. According to various reports from people who have interacted with a demonized person, the demon(s) often know things about you and others. They are a spirit and can read thoughts and get their information from other demons and they have been around since the beginning so why wouldn't they be able to know things about you, your friends and family? They know our weaknesses and use them against us and the person they are in to keep control and wreak havoc and destruction. The demon will know everything about who they are possessing and will even tell you how they were able to enter that person if you ask them as a believer. They will also know other languages, usually Latin, and this is normally heard as blabbering and muttering and sound like 'crazed talk' but it's really just them talking in another language, one you probably don't recognize and cursing and taunting you with it. Likewise, demons often provide the demonized person with new abilities, such as great strength (demonized people who are under the influence of drugs often enhance their strength, and experts will tell you it's due to the drug but its' really due to the demon gaining more control of the person's mind and body). They might display talents like illusions and card tricks, very RARE cases they could even levitate but I have not personally witnessed that. I am convinced due to this reason that a lot of your mediums, spirituals (like monks) and magicians are influenced by demonic help. You will notice too that demonized people tend to be VERY charismatic and charming, and why not? And no wonder! For Satan himself transforms himself into an angel of light. (2 Corinthians 11:14)
    5. Involuntary Negative/Outrageous Reactions to the name of Jesus, Reading of Certain Scripture and/or Christian symbols (Cross, Bible, Etc) From my experience demons ABHOR an actual Bible, especially the King James Bible which I believe is the most accurate. (not everyone has to agree with me on this). Some of the weaker demons will become VERY enraged at the sight of this. Infact, during my time in a psychiatric ward, one young girl got EXTREMELY offended and agitated by the sight of my bible when I held it up to her to see (it had a cross on it as well). She started cursing the name of God and crying and shouting wildly to take people's attention off the Bible. More so, demons HATE having good, solid scripture read aloud (ESPECIALLY in front of the lost). They will start to act crazy, do something like change the conversation, do anything and everything to keep you from reading it and keeping people's attentions off the word of God. In my experience with one demonized man, while I was quoting a powerful scripture in Revelation (one of their LEAST liked books which shows that they are defeated by Christ), the man threw up violently, either because he was so shaken by the Word or because he wanted to distract the other people that were around him, I don't know, only God knows. But either way, USE THE WORD, The bible says the Word of God is our sword, so use the Truth on them and put it on your heart, they will flee from you if you use the right verses against them. In order to cast out demons, some people, depending on how strong their faith is, can make the demon leave by the name of Christ alone and a command, some you have to use the actual Word on them, but it depends on the strength and quantity of the demons IMO.
    6. They damage and kill themselves, others and things. It is the source of most of our murders and rapes and all other wicked actions against humanity, demonized people get pleasure from killing and torture. They do it to not only others, but their host, because in the end of the day, they HATE and DESPISE humans because we are made in the image of God and they hate God so of course they hate us. They want to see as many of us destroyed and damned as they can. So they go out and wreak havoc upon the world and seek to destroy and kill. I believe many of the cases of suicide are results of demonetization, because, perhaps, the demon gets bored of the person, sees that they are close to breaking free of them, and so they make that person hate themselves so much, have so much hopelessness that they make them kill themselves. It is SO sad, and I believe I was being influenced by demons at one point when I desired to commit suicide, but grace be to GOD for having mercy on me and saving me from that! Scripture Support: And they brought the boy to him. And when the spirit saw him, immediately it convulsed the boy, and he fell on the ground and rolled about, foaming at the mouth. And Jesus asked his father, “How long has this been happening to him?” And he said, “From childhood. And it has often cast him into fire and into water, to destroy him. But if you can do anything, have compassion on us and help us.” (Mark 9:20-21)

    1. Act Extremely Abnormal, Crazy, Deranged, Rabid, Malevolent, Evil, Maniacal, Wrathful and/or Lustful While I'm not saying that EVERY SINGLE PERSON WHO ACTS ONE OR MORE OF THESE WAYS IS DEMONIZED, 9 times out of 10 if they show an extreme sign of any of the form things I listed, they have become demonized. You can bet your bottom that a man or woman who says they want to kill you or others, or who threatens and screams and takes pleasure in any form of EVIL act like murder, hating and the like, they are either demonized themselves, or being influenced by demonic spirits. Even Christians can become like this, but in lesser extremes obviously, by suddenly feeling very hateful or wrathful toward someone or something. A demon could be influencing you to watch porn and you can't find yourself being able to help yourself. Where there is temptation to sin, there is a demonic influence IMO. Adam and Eve were tempted by Satan himself in the Garden and they chose to sin in their free will (yes, i'm not putting the blame entirely on demons or Satan), but ANYTIME there is sin, there is a demon/dark spirit involved that is there whispering and tempting us to make that decision to sin. But with a demonized person, they cannot help themselves and it feels as if they are being controlled by someone else. Oftentimes that is why a demonized person who has been healed does not remember what the demon did in them when they come to.
    2. Other things demons will do for sure is mock, taunt intimidate you and try to cause YOU and others to sin. Oftentimes demons will use the pride and ego to puff you up, they will say nice things about you to get you to have pride and think yourselves great. That's the most common one they will try and get you to do. Another is lust, they will make themselves look attractive they will make others look enticing to you, they will try to get you to sin and if you can resist them, that weakens them I believe. So guard your heart and mind brothers/sisters! And of course if they discover you know what they truly are they will mock you and your faith to try and scare and intimate you and make you look small. Don't let them take away your power you have in Christ! Greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world!!
    3. Other things I have discovered in my personal experiences with demonized people are that they can provoke a sense of dread, fear and hatred in you, and almost ALWAYS give off a cold air, it will feel like when they walk past you there is a VERY cold draft. I experienced that in the psych ward and I can attest that it was a very HOT and MUGGY afternoon and the air wasn't on very well and whenever one of the demonized people walked past me they felt like literal death, so cold and it gives you chills.
    4. They will always, ALWAYS try to trick you. They are crafty and deceitful, they will use you, abuse you, and use other demons to trick you. They are liars by nature and nothing they say is trustworthy and it is always convoluted in some way. Be warned! They will make you believe whatever they want, pray that God gives you a spirit of wisdom and discernment so you won't be fooled or played!
    5. A few other things I discovered (especially from working at a prison), demonized people love to smoke, whether that's cigarettes, drugs or anything that damages or alters the mind state. They gain power that way I believe since the drugs not only dull your mind, but open you up to more demonic attacks and control. And another thing I suspect (there's no proof but this is my personal judgement), demons are drawn to smoke and fire since that is what they are accustomed to, being cast into hell with fire and such.
    6. They love committing sins. This should be a given though, right? You name it, lust, cursing, gluttony, lying, cheating, coveting, anything and everything, you won't see any demonized person truly give off any of the fruits of the spirits (and if they do, they're faking it to get others to trust them or to manipulate them)
    7. They will group up. I believe demons not only enter people in groups, but they stick together. They will find other demonized people and work together with them to cause havoc. Why do you think gangs are so rampent? Of the devil. And I can attest that demons work together as when I was in the psych unit, a demonized man (who I believe was the leader of the others in that unit), gave hand-signals to the other demonized people and they NEVER SPOKE OR INTERACTED TOGETHER. I never saw them interact verbally or physically, and I think it was because they didnt' want me to know they wre interacting. So there you have it.
I pray all that I have shared came from God's wisdom and Godly discernment. I know demons are alive and real on this earth and they influence us, they possess unbelievers and they cause death and destruction wherever they go. For the Bible said this:

"For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places." (Ephesians 6:12)

Stand firm in the Word of God, be ready for anything, protect yourselves and others by praying (fasting too if you feel God is leading you to do it) and anything of the fruit of the spirit, act and rest in those things and the demonized people and the demonic influence cannot overtake you. You are stronger than them when you have faith and trust completely in Christ Jesus.

If anyone else has stories, wisdom or concerns, please share because this is important to understand and be aware of with our walk with Christ.

Demons abound at the time of Christ, but what have we in scripture to support the idea that possession is still occurring? What if possession went away with the Sign and Wonder miracles because the NT had been both given and authenticated?

To deny that we struggle and fight with spiritual hosts of wickednesss is a fools error, you obviously don’t have a good spirit of discernment , besides this guide is for true believers who realize the enemy is alive and real during this time .

The last verse I quoted in the second post above is proof enough we deal with demonic forces every waking moment

They might be becoming more brazen closer to second coming event, and whose to say that some of the issues problem are having mentally and physically due to drugs, alcohol etc might not also be including them to some degree?

I asked for evidence of demon possession and I got evidence we struggle against "spiritual wickedness."

Basically your effort to disparage me (don't have a good spirit of discernment) reveals a ploy of evildoers, attack the opponent rather than support your view.

Scripture teaches we have three enemies, Satan, the World, and fleshly desires. Let's focus on ways to discern our enemies and their ploys to ensnare us.

Speculation pure and simple. God might have put invisible pink elephants in orbit around Mars, the Bible does not say He did not. Any belief not specifically supported from scripture should be avoided. Who wants us to be focused on demons in others, rather than our own character and service? Think about it before you post "taint so."

My testimonies and if you yourself open your eyes to the wickedness ensnaring our world is proof enough brother. If you still want to reject the truth then I don’t want you here distracting people from my guide the Lord has laid upon me to share. This isn’t a debate thread it’s a guide and a platform for others to share their experiences with the demonized.

    Good day.

You’re foolish, the evidence of demonic possession was in the NT and to say it doesn’t happen today is idiotic . You’re naive and stupid to believe we are safe from Satans attacks, and don’t you know he uses his fallen angels aka demons to do his bidding throughout all the earth?

Did anyone see the quote where I said or suggested we are safe from Satan's attacks? Neither did I. Once obvious misrepresentation begins, ad hominems follow. Did you see any of those? So did I. :)

I don't see anything in Scripture suggesting demon possession ending with the closing of the canon.

Take it easy. We're all just talking here. Some believe demon possession no longer happens today. Like you, I think it's misguided. Scripture says the devil roams about like a roaring lion.

I think some wrongly believe Satan is bound today, in the Church age. Peter disagrees.

1Pet. 5:8 Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour.

But I'm curious where the above info came from. Are you part of a deliverance ministry?

The issue is the basis for belief such possessions are occurring now. My view is Christ's miracles of healing the demon-possessed was part of His Sign and Wonder gifts, and thus the possessions ended with the authentication of the New Testament.

Think about it, to say scripture teaches something, when it is not mentioned, is speculation, the mother of false doctrine.
To say scripture does not teach something not mentioned is the absence of speculation. I am not saying scripture teaches demon possession has stopped, that would be speculation not based on scripture. I am saying we should focus on our character and service to Christ as ambassadors of Christ, rather than be side tracked into demonology.

The miracles that are recorded in the New Testament seem to most people to have "ceased." But when does scripture say miracles will in the future occur? End Times. And who will do them? The dark side. So beware Sir you are not ensnared in a false flag operation of the dark side.
