How bizarre that he is called a dictator!!! Because he stood up to the oil greedy nations and the top 2% of the mega rich, who permitted the people to live in squalor.....The man is dead,RIP......and I shall certainly pray that the Venezulan people get a government that is pro the people not just pro the fat cats.
How bizarre that he is called a dictator!!!
Operation Zamora, a failed coup attempt against the corrupt President Carlos Andrés Pérez, landed Chávez both in prison and in the headlines. His legend as a defender of the country’s poor was cemented.

Praise God. May it quickly be so with all oppressors.Hugh Chavez, dictator of Venezuela, is reported to have died.
What do you see as far as the future for this oil-rich South American nation?
Do you see this as having any major impact on missionary activity on that continent?
Antigua and Barbuda Prime Minister Baldwin Spencer described Chavez’s death as a “huge blow” noting he was “a true champion of not only the working class people of Venezuela but of the entire Caribbean.”
“Being in his presence and interacting with him was always uplifting and was a positive symbol of great hope for Latin America and the Caribbean,” Spencer said.
“His contributions to the development of Antigua and Barbuda and the Caribbean in general will always be remembered. The Caribbean owes a debt of gratitude to Venezuela for sharing with us a son of the soil, whose imposing physical presence was equalled only by his exceptional intellect and compassion.”
The Prime Minister of Antigua and Barbuda, Winston Baldwin Spencer, was Mid-Continent University’s commencement speaker. Mid-Continent University has focused much of their overseas mission work to Antigua and has had a long standing relationship for many years. Prime Minister, the Hon. W. Baldwin Spencer, Received an Honorary Doctorate Degree from MCU.
So the murders of innocent Venezuelans as reported by Amnesty International and other non-conservative sources do not matter? Evo Morales was a drug grower before Hugo made him President of Bolivia. The fact of the matter is that Cuba, Nicaragua, Bolivia, and Venezuela are all unsafe for almost everyone not a communist. You might throw in Rafael Correa of Ecuador as sympathetic to Chavez.
Jimmy Carter said that El Loco helped the down and out. I suppose that Jimmy Carter would say the same about Joe Stalin.
It seems that if you take the property of others and abuse the human rights of many and shut down the media and call your clergy fascist but you pass out some welfare, you are a hero to the left.
As for this President Spencer, he would be seconded by Jimmy Carter I suppose.
It looks like the left is trying to rewrite history before it gets out of the gate good.
