Hundreds of police officers turned their backs on a screen showing New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio as he spoke at the funeral of one of two officers killed last week in what has been called an "assassination."http://news.yahoo.com/hundreds-turn-back-blasio-nypd-officers-funeral-195828240--abc-news-topstories.html

He has an interracial son who looks black . They don't have to like that he has had to have conversations about how to respond to police. He loves his son.

If they weren't running around killing unarmed black men, perhaps he wouldn't have had to have those conversations. But the police in this country have a history of abuse of power where Blacks are concerned.

And as I've said before, if they are so disrespectful that they'll turn their backs on their boss, ain't no telling what else they think they can do because of that blue line.

So if you want to speak of people being racially divisive, those cops would qualify. They are upset that he spoke to his son about cops. SMH.

Racist....

A self admitted troll is calling me a racist.

you should look deeper than skin deep.

I have. Like with you and a lot of folks on this board, the systemic racism and racial prejudice present in the police is an issue of the wickedness in your hearts.

I thought they were upset because he said some demonstrators "allegedly" attacked NY police officers. In other words, he didn't stand up for his own police department.

Their beef with the mayor goes back further than the shooting and demonstrations. Weeks before the shooting the police union rep suggested that officers should sign a petition asking the mayor to NOT attend their funerals if they get killed in the line of duty.

So he speaks at a cops funeral and the police turn their backs on him. Nothing to do with his talk with his mixed race son.

They should be proud that he stood up for right. He has an interracial son who looks black. Folks standing up for their own instead of following due process is why there were no indictments in Ferguson or Staten Island.

I know. Patrick Lynch makes it clear that this goes back further.

So he speaks at a cops funeral and the police turn their backs on him. Nothing to do with his talk with his mixed race son.

It's part of the equation. Because when they first did it, he hadn't said anything other than he has had to have talks with his son about how to respond to police.
