Odrama was just on the news asking congress to listen to AARP and the Medical people pushing for health care.

LISTEN TO THE LOBBYISTS BUT IGNORE THE people that gathered to voice their disagreement. What a guy!

AARP is on the take.

They expect to make big bucks connected to their endorsement of insurance policies.

There can be no other reason for their blatant disregard for the welfare of their members.

I am not a member of AARP. I got tired of receiving one advertisement after another, so I didn't renew my membership a few years ago.

I was a member for a few months, saw an off color cartoon in their magazine, wrote and asked to be taken from their mag. mailing list, they kicked me out and refunded the remaining part of my membership fee.

Guess they don't like morality though they have been sending me invitations for 15 years

My mother-in-law had been a member for years, but dropped them when they started with their recent political BS. I'm not eligible yet, but I won't be joining it, either.

GOP Congressman Questions AARP Endorsement of Pelosi Health-Care Bill as Possible Conflict of Interest

Friday, November 06, 2009
By Christopher Neefus

AARP, the American Association of Retired Persons, which endorsed House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s (D-Calif.) version of the health-care reform bill Thursday, is drawing fire from a member of Congress who questions the motives of the nation’s largest senior citizens’ lobbying group.

Rep. Dave Reichert (R-Wash.) told CNSNews.com that it is possible AARP could benefit financially from the passage of the bill, which includes $500 billion in cuts to Medicare and Medicare Advantage. According to Reichert, if the cuts to the programs result in reduced benefits, more seniors will have to purchase “Medigap” coverage, highly regulated private insurance that fills in holes in Medicare coverage.

UnitedHealth Group offers Medigap coverage branded with the AARP logo, on which AARP collects royalties.
