Does "In the beginning" always refer to the "creation week of Genesis 1? Nope Several times the phrase is used to point the first of someone's reign, such as Jeremiah 26:1

In John 1:1-2 the phrase refers to before the creation week, before creation.

Another phrase "from the beginning" also refers to different beginnings.

Humankind was created "from the beginning" male and female. The idea is not just day 6 of creation, but refers to the whole expanse of time following for contrary to woke false doctrine, humans are still created male and female.

In Luke 1:2, from the beginning refers to the beginning and following of Christ's public ministry.

And in John 8:25, once again "from the beginning" refers to the start of Christ's public ministry.

In 2 Thessalonians 2:13, "from the beginning" refers to the inauguration and following of the New Covenant in His Blood.
