That's not whats happening, Matt. These folks aren't asking the doll to pray for them, they are praying to the doll. You can at least admit that, right ?

And I posted from the New Advent site, concerning the superstitions involved in venerating relics. Did you read it ?

Yes, I'm familiar with the New Advent site. If they are praying to the doll then they are in breach of Catholic teaching and should be disciplined; they probably won't be though :(

    Matt,

Your profile says you are a Baptist, but you talk as if you are defending Catholic doctrine.

    Did I miss something?

Just for the record, which are you??

    Peace,

    Tam

The pope endorses it, instead of disciplining them. Is he guilty, as well, of idolatry ?

Quite possibly the Pope is guilty of idolatry if he endorses this kind of thing

You'll be pleased to know (or maybe you won't) that the Pope's trying to clean things up on another front: he's personally endorsed the dismissal of two Irish priests convicted of pedophile offences.

Normally, for their own privacy, we do not give info on whether someone has been banned or not.
However, Stephen has asked that people know why isn't isn't responding, and that is the reason.
After an issue with Catholics a short while back the BB quit approving registrations from those of that denom for the time being. Stephen's denom wasn't listed on his app, so it slipped by.
    He also said that
I'm in disagreement with that statement as there are a number of different opinions on this board, but it is true that we do our best to avoid what we know for sure to be false doctrine from being promoted/vociferously defended on this board, for apparent reasons.

IMO the Reformed Catholic Church is mengling Paganisim with Christianity.
I personally do not recognize the RCC as a christian denomination but Rather a CULT.

"Reformed Catholic Church"??? Wouldn't that be the Lutherans? [IMG]

Hopefully, you consider them Christian, as I don't remember them "mengling" any "isim"s with Christianity. [IMG]

</font>[/QUOTE]sorry I meant the Roman Catholic Church
confession of sin to a priest, pagan in origin
statues of Mary, Christ on the Cross, Rosary beads ect,Idolitry Pagan in origin.
Praying to dead saints, praying to Mary Pagan
Ucharist, thinking that the bread and wine is actual flesh and blood of Christ.
a cult is not Christianity it is a cult.

Better be careful whom you call a cult. That "cult" was the only church there was for about 1000 years. God is not mocked.

That being said the catholics are way off base.

But that doesn't mean that a person who attends a catholic church but believes on Christ for salvation is not saved. At least the catholics get the kerygma right.
