IF you found yourself able to have ONLY the Bible and 1 other Christian book in your library...

    What would it be?

    A good commentary.

JesusFan, I think it would benefit you greatly to have a couple of good commentaries, a couple of literal bible versions, a good software program, and prayers to the Holy Spirit to help with your studies. You wouldn't need to ask so many questions on an internet forum where you will likely get too many varied answers, some good, but some bad.
I don't mean to be rude, but everyone needs to invest in good study tools and not depend on discussion forums for answers. :)

I'm convinced that JesusFan is affiliated with the owners of this forum and is posting so many questions in order to drive more traffic through the forum :).

Along with a copy of the scriptures I would want a copy of the Complete Green Letters by Miles Sanford.

It would depend on where I'm at. On an island the book would be about ship building. In prison, how to escape, etc. :)

I wonder what his cut is?

Anyway, I agree with beameup --- Strong's Concordance [As the old saying goes, "Strong's for the strong, Young's for the young and Cruden's for the crude!!" :tongue3:]

Couldn't that be one book AT A TIME plus the Bible???? I don't know if I could limit myself to only 1 book plus the Bible. Also, what genre. My answer would be different for a fiction book as opposed to a study aid.
OOOOOO this question is TOOO hard!!!

    A decent poem anthology.

Preferably with nothing by Shakespeare. Every single one of his works seem to be able to be reduced to "people being people, then comes love, women are reduced to nothing but stupid beings or can't live without a man, then everyone dies." A while back I rewrote Hamlet from Ophelia's point of view, where she happily goes for a swim, washing away the last remnants of the silly notion that a man with a complex for his mamma is worth crying tears over.

So yeah, no Shakespeare. Just a good mix of poetry over the years, right up to the latest available by Billy Collins. Love that guy!

So true...I didn't think it would interest me much but my daughter had it so I started it and my nose stayed inside that book until it was done.

A blank book is a good idea...someone mentioned a book on how to write a book. How about a blank one to just write the words in? Fun fun fun!
