To blame the country's ills on 3 percent of the population is a misinformed position.

I read the linked one, but again friend, you are myopic in your view of the bigger picture. I was referring to people like my former congressman, Tom Tancredo, who's xenophobic speech at the recent Tea Bag convention echoes the thoughts of many who do blame illegal immigrants for the country's ills.I didn't see anything in the linked article that blamed any of the country's ills on anyone - let alone on illegal aliens.
You must have been reading a different article?

Trotter, the article says 10.8 million illegal immigrants are in the US. In a nation of 300 million, my quick, in my head math says that is approximately 3 percent of the population.
I know you live to agitate, but the fact is, my comments were not off topic at all. The OP asked for thoughts after reading the article. That is what I responded with. You really need to get over your fascination with me, and quit trying to derail every thread. So what you are saying is that you went off topic from why illegal immigrants are supposedly leaving to people blaming illegal immigrants for the county's ills.
What does your little percentage calculation add to the discussion as to why illegal immigrants are supposedly leaving the U.S.?

At least I have a lucid "stream of consciousness". Try it sometime. :tongue3:The OP asked for thoughts on the article - not your stream of consciousness on illegal immigration.
Yet your repeated refusal to answer questions posed to you in other threads also show you to be just an agitator. BTW, who appointed you the arbiter of what posts are on topic?
More anti-Evolution claptrap.
The term "tea bag" has offensive roots and should not be used on a Christian board.
MP, out of respect for some of us, please refrain from using it.
Salty said:Who is offended by "tea bag" ?
Who is offended by ...........?
This was offered in the spirit of MP, BTW—seeing the "big picture", "stream of conciousness", etc. You, know . . . completely off topic.More anti-Evolution claptrap.
Which is exactly how I used it...as a noun. I purposely did not use the verb form, but I do feel it is silly to let a group co-opt a perfectly good word.Sorry, should've been more clear.
As a noun...fine.
As a verb...not so much.

550 people laid off in Brewster, WA, because of a lack of proper ID. Story says that is about a quarter of the town's population. One farmer told the reporter that his only white employee is his his office manager. Not one white person has asked for job since this depression began.
Do you want to pay $3/pound for apples? Do you want your kids to be migrant farm workers? Do you want to buy apples from China? Or should we let Mexicans come here to pick apples?
