The GOP needs to allow budget bills to pass the Senate by majority rule, and they need to stop these big bills that include everything. Items should be broken down. Also, the GOP did not allow anyone enough time to even read the bill.

It is rumored that Paul Ryan will retire this fall. I am surprised that Kentucky elects a Country Club Republican like McConnell, but Trump made a mistake by putting Elaine Chao in the cabinet.

I am not. I have been to Kentucky many times and talked to many voters - they really like this guy.

1) Congress spends the money - IMHO - the POTUS needs to have line item veto

2) Every Congressman wants to cut the budget -except for those items that benefit his district.
There is not a doubt in my military mind that Congressman talk about "support my pet project and I will support your pet project"

Congress critters are the bane of the Republic. Word has come out that Schumer, Pelosi, McConnell, and Ryan all work hand in hand to put forward what they want, not what you and I want. Demican or Republicrat - at this point they are one and the same.

Did Trump campaign for border wall funding? Did he make conditional statements, "If there is no funding for new construction for the wall, I'll veto this bill" or "don't send a bill to me that has funding for Planned Parenthood in it, because I will veto it." NO, he didn't. No leadership.
