Typical, and not just concerning national security matters. Congress has for decades been ceding more and more power to the executive branch.

Now we finally have a president who has almost complete disregard for the constraints of the Constitution and they don't know how to stop him from writing legislation in his office and making it law.

Some day they may give away enough of our rights that they can't stop a president from getting away with a bloodless coup. Hopefully I'll be dead by then.
