This isn't a church service. It's a conference for Christian parents who have gay children. I know Christian parents who have gay children and it's such a pain and burden. They love their children so much, but bear the burden of great worry.

These parents need Christian guidance. Andy Stanley is wrong on a lot of things but he is right that gay people need Jesus and need the church. My opinion is that they need Jesus and the church so that they can reach a place of repentance and submission/obedience to God.

I would be interested after the fact as to what the main emphasis of the conference was.

The promise of “quieter middle space” might appear attractive, given the volatility of cultural discourse on LGBTQ+ issues, and a conference designed to help parents of LGBTQ+ children and ministry leaders work through these issues in clearly biblical terms would be a welcome development. But the advertising for the “Unconditional Conference” indicates clearly that this event is designed as a platform for normalizing the LGBTQ+ revolution while claiming that the conference represents “quieter middle space.” In truth, there is no “middle space” on these issues, and it is no longer plausible to claim that such middle space exists.
