    Pork?

Do you know why the ancient world kept swine?

Swine will eat anything. If they don't have food, they will eat their own fecal matter and drink their own urine. Jews would feed their fecal matter to pigs. Best sewage system in the world. Also feeding "those that died in battle" to swine was an alternative to either digging up a mass grave or having a mass bonfire.

Side note: Also have a male finishes mating with his female, he invites all the other males to mate with her as well.

Its an all round nast and disgusting creature.

I know... i dont eat pork. its rather disturbing what swine really is.

but - the kingdom of God is not meat or drink - and wont be sent to hell for eating pork or drinking wine.
(please keep the wine discussion to the wine debate and the pork to the parody)

I thought all "rednecks" eat pork unless they have had so many heart surgeries they figure they better lay off of it for a while. The sexual part I never took that much interest.

Eating pork and drinking wine is like comparing apples to oranges. It's fine to eat pork, since pork is considered a food with nutrients (although some groups of people are not allowed to eat pork), alcohol (fermented wine), on the other hand, is NOT a food and has NO nutritional value to it. It is a drug.

The wine thread is closed, BTW.

Given the right opportunities by humans, the domestic pig is cleaner than either the cow or the chicken...just peek at the barnyard someday. A pig will find the lowest spot in the pen to defecate and urinate. Given the right food and clean water, it will not choose garbage as food.

I would love a good piece of English pork pie right now and would pay handsomely for it.........it was banned by Canada when England had a bad pork disease infestation a few years ago.

    Cheers,

    Jim

If it had not been for pork I don't know how the South would of survived in earlier years. We rendered out lard from the hog, we put the meat up in a storage house just for the meat called "the smoke house", and covered it with salt to keep it for there was no refrigeration. We canned sausage from the hog for the winter. slabs of bacon but sure was salty though but made good pintos. Nothing went to waste, not even the pigs feet or the head. We saved it all and were very thankful back in these mountains where I can remember there was not even electricity and when we got it only 110 volts to burn one light usually. We got our light from the fire place at night and roast potatoes in the hot ashes under the grate. It is what is known as "good ole days", then have some young whipper snapper tell me all about life, baloney! :)

no pigs are not clean. they have pores in the bottom of their feet - something for sweat or something other. and when the gets clogged - puss starts to go into their system and into the meat. pigs are scavengers. bottom feeders.

they sick dirty animals and shouldn't be eaten. leviticus demands it. if you eat it you are disobeying God. and will go to hell for it.

im sorry. if you want to eisegete the scriptures and say pork is ok to eat. then go right ahead. im just warning you.

    1 Corinthians, chapter 10

"27": If any of them that believe not bid you to a feast, and ye be disposed to go; whatsoever is set before you, eat, asking no question for conscience sake.

"28": But if any man say unto you, This is offered in sacrifice unto idols, eat not for his sake that shewed it, and for conscience sake: for the earth is the Lord's, and the fulness thereof:

"29": Conscience, I say, not thine own, but of the other: for why is my liberty judged of another man's conscience?

"30": For if I by grace be a partaker, why am I evil spoken of for that for which I give thanks?

"31": Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God.

In Lev 11 God says that we should not eat rats, cats, dogs and bats.

In Isaiah 66 He says that those who eat rats will suffer the wrath of God in fire and brimstone.

I vote that we pay attention to the word of God - "the maker" says that rats cats dogs and bats "are not food" for us.

    In Christ,

    Bob

    You are joking right?

If not, how do you explain what Jesus was telling us in Mark 7:14-23?

In these verses, doesn't he pretty much say all food is ok to eat, because it's not what goes into you that makes you unclean, it's what comes out of you that makes you unclean?

Ok, Ed... I am orginally from North Carolina.

Since I have moved to New Hampshire I haven't had good BBQ.... How about you being a kind sir and sending me some of that good ole' BBQ! These people don't know what a Pig Pickin' is!

When I go to a BBQ place here in New England, they give me pork that has been cooked to a mush with no sauce, and then they serve it with the sauce on the side... I jokingly told one of my friends, one time when we had finished eating, that if the BBQ had been done right, they wouldn't sauce at the table. :)

I'll PM you my address... pack up a nice care package for a fellow brother...

    Yea Ed;
I live close enough to drive to a pig roast. I was at one about 4 months ago and it was really good. I didn't see no holes in the hoofs or nutting.
