"Real" Fundamentalists would see being seperate from all ofter not "likeminded", who would be into worldly activities, drinking. movies etc!
They al wouldsee cannot bpr of any group/association that in theti mind compromises te Gospel, so no ministry wiht non Funamntalists, and make sure get trained up/educated in "approved" seminaries that teach right enoug.

what about associating with churches - not involved in those activities - but those churches do associate with churches that do allow members to go to movies and other worldly activities? aka, secondary separation.

I said it in another thread and took a little heat for it, but the author (possibly unwittingly) seems to note...

From what I've seen, there is a HUGE difference between fundamentalist and Fundamentalist.

I am a fundamentalist in a "fundamentals of the faith" sense,

But I beg you, please don't call me such a vile name as Fundamentalist.

Know that many who are Fundamentals will not associate/minister with group such as a Billy Graham Organization, nor even wit somethinglike Christianity Today, as htat Magazine was when pretty much modern Evangelcals diverged from Fundamentalists!

It is absolutely a contrast...one I'm proud of.

I shudder to think that I would be called a brother to those who are so focused on behavior and works that the cross of Christ finds barely a mention.

Around these parts, that's a Fundamentalist. And that's not Christian. Not my brethren.

So you would not see those who call themselves as Fundamentalist asbeing brothers in Christ?
Wht about Reformed and Calvinists then?

It's a sad situation when those calling themselves Fundamentalist would have that kind of focus. Our pastor would apply that title to himself, and I to myself. However, his focus is on glorifying God through presenting the Gospel, bringing souls to salvation, and discipling believers. When he touches on behavior, it is always solidly based on scripture, and much more about God's glory than on specifics.

Putting all those calling themselves Fundamentalists in the same box is unfortunate, though understandable if what you describe is all you've been exposed to.

Just think that there are broad movement, as some are very seperating, KJVO, etc, while others more open minded

I'm not sure if you noticed it earlier in the thread, but I do believe there can be a distinction between fundamentalist and Fundamentalist.

The former I am, the latter I'm not.

Just like I believe there's a difference between charismatic and Charismatic.
I am a charismatic in the sense that I believe the outward gifting of the holy spirit is extant today. But I shudder to think that I would be lumped in among that wacky brand of so-called Christianity named Charismatic

Most Fundamentalist Baptists have the correct salvation message, just tend to get too much into judgement of others spiritual at times!
