Is the American military too Christian

Using scripture doesn't make anyone a Christian. The military has never been Christian. In fact, when I was in back in the late 1960's, the chapel services were so generic as to be boring. There was no gospel preached for fear of offending non-Christians, and I doubt it has improved. If they use any scriptire, I'm sure it has nothing to do with how to be born again.

Depends on the Chaplain. I have sat under some (but not for long) who were like the one you described, but I had sat under some Gospel preaching chaplains.
