Is This George W Bush's Family Values?

==Well first I don't believe Bush is stupid. I think he is out of touch, but not stupid. A person does not become President of the United States by being stupid. I think he also has a MBA from Harvard. Again, not stupid. However I do believe he is out of touch with the daily life of the average soldier and soldiers family, not to mention the average American.

As for my former support of Bush, well, it was always with one hand pinching my nose shut. I supported Alan Keyes in '00 until the day he was out of the race. At that point I thought about supporting McCain but I could not bring myself to do that. Bush was the only other real choice. So I voted for George W Bush in '00. On 9/11/01 I was glad he was the President. His response to 9/11 was perfect and I fully supported his war on terror and the actions taken in Afghanistan. When he started the Iraq talk I was nervous. I thought he was rushing us to war. However I was willing to give his position on Iraq and wmds the benefit of the doubt. Even when none were found I still defended him by saying that he made a honest, but tragic, mistake. I have not changed that. However now I realize that it has been four years, some three thousand dead American soldiers, and millions of dollars later and Baghdad is still not secure? Why not? Because of Bush's policies. He did not put enough troops on the ground at the start, and his "shock and awe" was not tough enough. He tried to do this mission "on the cheap" and, sadly, thousands of American soldiers have paid for that mistake. If Bush wanted to change course in Iraq he should have done that three years ago. It is too late now. I will never again support George W Bush and, honestly, it will be a long time before I can even look at the man without getting sick to my stomach. His policies, and administration, have failed the American soldiers, the American people, and even the Iraqi people. Not to mention the damage his "road map" did to Israel. He has grown the federal government and is throwing money away like it is yesterday's garbage. George W Bush could have been a great, and I mean great, president. However he allowed himself to get stuck in Iraq and refused to admit that his policies were not working. Admitting that now is too late. The damage is done. Worse yet, he now seeks to do more damage. He wants more soldiers to go to Iraq and get injured or die for his failed policy. He also is forcing soldiers who have been in Iraq a very long time to stay even longer (and because of that I am sadly certain some will never come home). I don't want one more American soldier to die for the Iraqi people, period.

 

==Excuse me sir, but I am no liberal. I am a hard core conservative (right winger, the whole nine yards). However I will not mindlessly support any President. If I believe their polices have gone south, and are doing more harm than good, then I will say so. I don't care if it is Bill Clinton, George W Bush, or Santa Clause.

General Reply:

I keep hearing people say that Bush does not choose who goes (etc). I agree. Bush is probably not even aware of this situation. However he is the Commander in Cheif and this policy they are being shipped out to support is his policy. As a former President once said "the buck stops here" (ie..with the President).


Btw, I don't believe Bush is a conservative.
