LUANDA – According to several Angolan newspapers, Angola has become the first country in the world to ban Islam and Muslims, taking first measures by destroying mosques in the country.

“The process of legalization of Islam has not been approved by the Ministry of Justice and Human Rights, their mosques would be closed until further notice,” Rosa Cruz e Silva, the Angolan Minister of Culture, was quoted by Agence Ecofin on Friday, November 22......

.....She asserted that the decision was the latest is a series of efforts to ban ‘illegal’ religious sects.

According to the minister, the action was necessary to fight relentlessly against the emergence of congregations whose worshipping is contradicting with the customs of the Angolan culture......

My initial thought is it isn't the right approach. Like banning anything. It never works.

When you have an enemy combatant in your midst, you take action to subdue him and negate his hostile actions. Angola has taken the right step. It's a pity the rest of the world is so "tolerant" it would let Islam destroy it before it woke up to the truth Angola has embraced.

Well, the destroying Mosques thing seems to not be accurate at this point, but it has been banned. Which is going to make things extremely interesting.

It was banned because it is worship that is "contrary to the customs of the Angolan culture." According to most statistics 47% practice "indigenous beliefs," with 38% Roman Catholic. It rounds out with 15% Protestant. You can see where most people are expecting this to go. It's either going to be a Roman Catholic country or or all religion is going to be done away with in favor of indigenous beliefs. I wonder if so many will cheer then?

They are hoping to avoid sectarian violence with the ban. I am sure the Muslims of the world will react well to this though and go find something else to do... /sarcasm

So post them! We're supposed to read your mind through the Internet? The article I posted says mosques were destroyed. Prove them wrong.
