I applaud the Israeli government for making this bold move for peace. [IMG]

If the Palestinians cause problems then the Israeli military can roll the tanks back in and make them wish they hadn't caused problems.

Sure, Ken. Then the world will accuse them of genocide.

President Bush will leave a legacy of helping Russia, the UN, and EU to destroy the only democracy and true friend of America in the Middle East. Palestinian Muslims will not be satisfied until they own Jerusalem and drive all the Jews into the sea. This is a heart breaker happening before our eyes and what I predicted so long, long ago right here on this board.

Oh, Brother Enoch, you know where I've been for the last hour? Searching through my posts about the Road Map in the BB archives!

Am posting some of these snippets for you, my Brother, just so you'll have some of these references if you want them. [IMG]

So what? The Israelis haven't allowed silly name-calling to stop them before.

I won't accuse them of genocide. Only the looney anti-semites will do that, and they will probably do that no matter what Israel does. I figure that is why they don't shape their policies to try and please them.

    Continuation...

The homicide bombings in Israel continue. AND THEY WILL CONTINUE AFTER ISRAEL IS FORCED TO RELINQUISH JERUSALEM!

As I stated before, on another thread, Abbas is a terrorist, who helped finance the murders of the Israelis at the Olympics. Yet, he was welcomed with open arms to the White House. :(

But not only that, the Palestinian Terrorists will profit from Christian tourism to those Holy Sites and use those profits to finance further terrorism attacks on the West as well as terrorist attacks on Israel to "drive them into the sea."

And then there is the profits to be made from Gaza gas (deals already have been made) which will also help finance terrorist attacks against the West and Israel.

Yes, the Bush Road Map is a sure-fire plan for peace for all of us.

I wish Sharon would have had the intestinal fortitude to stand up to GW Bush and the other three of the Quartet. Netanyahu would have.

Well, it's not over until God chooses to finish it, however or whenever He sees fit.

    1. That wouldn't be the first time.

    2. No place on earth is a Christian holy site except for the heart of a person who has come to Jesus in repentance and faith.

Ken, why are you missing the point about the tourism money and terrorism?

Simple. Christians shouldn't be going to those sites in the first place under some idea that they are "holy".

    Furthermore,

If terrorists, indeed, are running the site, there will be no tourism dollars.

Ken why do you support the disengagement?

It’s just a matter of time before terrorists attack Israel. They are publicaly stating this fact. My heart is breaking over this issue and I find it very disturbing and completely illogical. I’m sure Osama bin Laden is rejoicing with his psychotic friends over the Gaza pullout. He did request that Israel surrender her land to the Palestinians.

Appeasement never works it only weakens the one appeasing.

“What is our aim? I can answer in one word: Victory. Victory at all costs, victory in spite of all terrors, victory, however long and hard the road may be. For without victory, there is no survival.”
    Winston Churchill

The Israeli government has decided to the give the peace process a chance after the death of Yassir Arafat. I applaud it for doing so. If it doesn't work out, then they can roll the tanks right back in.

    Ken,
The PLO have not upheld any of the conditions that were discussed in the pullout. They keep attacking, yet Sharon has decided to still go forward. What does Israel get out of all of this?????? I see Israel giving and giving for what???? What are the Palestinians giving???? NOTHING but threats of total destruction and a promise to take all of Israel and to kill even more Jews! The PLO laugh in the face of those who surrender, it’s a FALSE PEACE. Arab countries including Osama bin Laden are awaiting this pullout to stregthen their cause. You are a wise man Ken and surely after reading and listening to all the facts you must realize what is going on in Israel and how this not a sign of strength but of weakness. What do you think of the resignation of Benjamin Netanyahu? He wanted NO part of this surrender to terrorists. Sure Israel can attack with great force if the PLO attack again which they will but you are not seeing the heart of this matter. Our world is facing uncertain times with evil springing up all around us. Never compromise with someone who is seeking your destruction.

    Map of Israeli Settlements

    Jewish Virtual Library

Gaza first appears in the Tanach as a Philistine city, the site of Samson's dramatic death. Jews finally conquered it in the Hasmonean era, and continued to live there. Notable residents include Dunash Ibn Labrat, and Nathan of Gaza, advisor to false messiah Shabtai Zvi. Gaza is within the boundaries of Shevet Yehuda in Biblical Israel (see Genesis 15, Joshua 15:47, Kings 15:47 and Judges 1:18) and therefore some have argued that there is a Halachic requirement to live in this land. The earliest settlement of the area is by Avraham and Yitzhak, both of whom lived in the Gerar area of Gaza. In the fourth century Gaza was the primary Jewish port of Israel for international trade and commerce.

The periodic removal of Jews from Gaza goes back at least to the Romans in 61 CE, followed much later by the Crusaders, Napoleon, the Ottoman Turks, the British and the contemporary Egyptians. However, Jews definitely lived in Gaza throughout the centuries, with a stronger presence in the nineteenth and early twentieth centuries.

Jews were present in Gaza until 1929, when they were forced to leave the area due to violent riots against them by the Arabs. Following these riots, and the death of more than 150 Jews in Gaza, the British prohibited Jews from living in Gaza to quell tension and appease the Arabs. Some Jews returned, however, and, in 1946, kibbutz Kfar Darom was established to prevent the British from separating the Negev from the Jewish state.

The United Nations 1947 partition plan allotted the coastal strip from Yavneh to Rafiah on the Egyptian border to be an Arab state. In Israel's war for independence, most Arab inhabitants in this region fled or were expelled, settling around Gaza City. Israeli forces conquered Gaza, and proceeded south to El-Arish, but subsequently gave control of the area to Egypt in negotiations, keeping Ashdod and Ashkelon. In 1956, Israel went to war with Egypt, conquered Gaza again, only to return it again.

    Myths and Facts - Partition

“The Palestinian Arabs were never offered a state and therefore have been denied the right to self-determination.”

    FACT

The Peel Commission in 1937 concluded the only logical solution to resolving the contradictory aspirations of the Jews and Arabs was to partition Palestine into separate Jewish and Arab states. The Arabs rejected the plan because it forced them to accept the creation of a Jewish state, and required some Palestinians to live under "Jewish domination." The Zionists opposed the Peel Plan's boundaries because they would have been confined to little more than a ghetto of 1,900 out of the 10,310 square miles remaining in Palestine. Nevertheless, the Zionists decided to negotiate with the British, while the Arabs refused to consider any compromises.

Again, in 1939, the British White Paper called for the establishment of an Arab state in Palestine within 10 years, and for limiting Jewish immigration to no more than 75,000 over the following five years. Afterward, no one would be allowed in without the consent of the Arab population. Though the Arabs had been granted a concession on Jewish immigration, and been offered independence — the goal of Arab nationalists — they repudiated the White Paper.

With partition, the Palestinians were given a state and the opportunity for self-determination. This too was rejected.

What is amazing is that the Palestinians are still rejecting what is being offered to them. It's no secret what their intent is with the Gaza pullout. They want all of Israel. No wonder they are suspicious of Israel’s disengagement plan. Who in their right mind would do such a thing?

Has the world gone crazy!? Has everyone turned a deaf ear and blinded eyes to what is happening!?

It may be hard, but it is not wrong. That land belongs to Palestine and as long as the Palestinians behave themselves they should be sovereign over it. If they don't behave, then it should be re-occupied sans the settlements. It was a mistake to build settlements in Gaza and the West Bank in the first place.
