It is time to come home!

Amen, we have been occupying Germany for 60 years and they are the wealthiest of the G-8 countries -- time to bring our troops home to defend the south side of Oklahoma City from the North side of Oklahoma City. Oklahoma is the 47th most prosperous per capita states. The fourth largest cash crop in OKlahoma is the US Military. Here is the order (we create more than our needs, so these are not only that top four cash makers for Oklahoma but also the top four exporsts):

Oil & Natural Gas
Wheat*
Mary Jo
soldiers/airmen/sea-men.

* We raise enough wheat to feed 3 other states in the USofA and 6 foriegn countries - you will notice when the other states won't let us use our gasoline to bring you wheat to sell.

I've been wanting to bring our soldiers home for several years, ever since I found out we created an Islamic state which caused non-muslims (Christians and Jews) to flee for their lives. Thanks GW.

As a resident hawk on US intervention, I have finally come to the conclusion that we ought to either take it over (which would be wrong) or come home.

I agree bring them home NOW.

To lesson our presence there at this time, with Iran developing the means to destroy Israel, and then the great satan, would be folly of the highest order....The Iraqi govt. would be overthrown in no time. I don't care if they want us out. Find a way to stay till every town and hamlet is secure and the govt. is of, by and for the people. In the mean time, build as many airbases as necessary in the region.

Islam will not be dissuaded in it's quest.

We were able to make a gov't by and for the people in this country because there was a history of understanding freedom and we never had to fight against a movement that was comitted to our destruction. Those are not true in Iraq. And what is next? We occupy Iran? Maybe Afghanistan? Our military can't do that kind of stuff either with force projection or economically.

We need to develop the intelligence and active measures capability to harshly punish those who act against the US interests, actively support Israel, refuse to support Islamic dictatorships like the Saudi gov't, develop our own energy reserves... those are steps in the right direction.

To not stand up immediately, will cost millions more lives, IMO. The costs in dollars will dwarf this war. Remember the mindset of these people and the amazing weapons that are coming with almost no interference.

I think we're in agreement as far as this goes. But I think we need to be very proactive in prosecution.

The government in Iraq is primarily Shiite just as the government in Iran is. Regardless of who is heading up the government in Iraq it will be friendly toward Iran whether we have troops there or not.

The United States government should never have invaded Iraq in the first place and it should withdraw its troops in a timely manner over the next 24 months at the longest.

There is no proof that Iran is developing nuclear weapons.

So you really think the US has the right to override a sovereign allied nation's desires and occupy their territory against their wishes?

Exactly. We are a republic, not an empire.

If that nation is seeking our destruction, I most emphatically do. Until they can prove they can be good neighbors in the world, and keep radicals under control.

Iraq is seeking our destruction? Could you document that please?

So I take it we should occupy any nation where "radicals" are not under control. Well, that would certainly be a good reason to return the troops to the US ;) .

This mindset toward the world is almost as bad as the Islamic terrorists.

The neo-con dream of American Empire.

We need to make up our minds. Are we an empire or not? If we are, we need to plunder the oil revenue and tax the Iraqis to pay for the war. If we are not, we need to get out.
