    ON ABC News, David Muir (who is from Syracuse) stated that Boeheim had mention he had thoughts about retirement but no one picked up on it.

    I still say that the Coach was fired!

    The announcement from the University came after SU lost in the first round of the ACC tourment. lost to Wake Forest 77-74.

    His lifetime record as a coach:

    Total games: 1,156
    Wins 1,116
    Losses ~440
    % wins .717

    The totals do not include the 101 wins that were vacated by the NCAA.

    Jim Boeheim is 78 years old. I hope he has a happy retirement. Also, we have too much rule by gerontocracy in this country politically and too many coaches who should have already retired(including Coach Popovich of my NBA team, the Spurs, who just turned 74). We need a lot more younger blood running things in this country, not us old people.
