The most professional, well done commercial I have ever seen a Libertarian Party presidential candidate roll out.

I watched all of them. Very general statements concerning supporting smaller government rather than big government intrusion. I generally agree, but need specifics.

Only specific statement was bringing all troops home from foreign countries immediately, which is impossible due to our legally binding agreements with other countries.

No statement on abortion, taxes, support for police, immigration, illegal drug policy (or legalizing marijuana), education, tax payer funding for plann:d parenth::d, etc....

    Peace to you

Good commercial. I think we are getting to the point where the Libertarian party would have a good chance....if they would develop some type of a moral compass in terms of platform (they would shed some, but I think gain more).

I think keeping the federal government out of cultural issues and leaving them up to the individual states as it was when our nation was founded is a GREAT starting point.

Most of LP are fine and dandy with me, but I do differ with them here:

Jo Jorgensen's campaign website says the U.S. should not build a wall along the southern border or separate children from adults who illegally attempted to cross the border. Jorgensen supports deporting illegal immigrants who commit serious crimes. She opposes local law enforcement detaining illegal immigrants and transferring them to federal immigration authorities unless the crime involves a victim and is serious.

    That's Joe Biden's position. And:

Jo Jorgensen's campaign website says communities should determine whether police officers are required to wear body cameras. She supports the government hiring private companies to run prisons with regulations. She opposes solitary confinement for juveniles, mandatory minimums for people charged with drug possession, and the death penalty for drug traffickers. Her campaign website says convicted criminals should have the right to vote

Jo Jorgensen presidential campaign, 2020 - Ballotpedia

but I think the ad, the actual thread topic, is very good but it has a fatal flaw - there is text with no voice over. There's tons of people in this country that are functionally illiterate.

It would be a rare occasion for someone to agree with a politician on everything, unless one is a sycophant.

I didn't see any text worth mentioning.

    "I'm good."

    "The other two are bad."

    "Freedom!"

I don't know anyone around me who would have problems reading this, but I've heard illiteracy is common is California and the east cost.

The commercial is stupid and sucks.

She had problems winning her own primary - only winning two states.

    She will not win.

She will not get close to winning.

She will not even get 5%.

    She is a pipe dream.

Which is why I believe she'll get the marijuana vote.

Nope. This is her actual platform.

    • Healthcare Freedom: We can reduce the cost of health care 75% by allowing real price competition, and by substantially reducing government and insurance company paperwork. This will make health care affordable for most Americans, while also reducing the cost of legacy programs like Medicare, Medicaid, and the VA.
    • Criminal Justice Reform: As President, I will use my Constitutional authority to end federal civil asset forfeiture prior to conviction, and pardon persons convicted of non-violent victimless crimes. I will also work with Congress to end the failed War on Drugs and other victimless crimes.
    • Auditing the Federal Reserve: Our reckless monetary system threatens to destroy the value of the U.S. entirely and must be stopped. As President, I will audit the Federal Reserve and begin shutting down the money printing machine.
    • Peace: I believe we should turn America into one giant Switzerland — Armed and Neutral. It’s time to bring our troops home and engage in free trade with our neighbors across the globe.
    • Spending & Debt: As President, I will draw a line in the sand. NO MORE DEBT. I will use my authority to block any new borrowing and veto all new spending increases.
All of these show that she is truly incompetent.

She is a psychology professor at a public college who doesn't know enough to win or run the government.

    The Libertarian Party
    1) do not take a stand on Abortion
    2) are opposed to the Death Penalty
    3) They are opposed to Govt licensing of professions (medical, Barber, ect)
They believe that occupational associations should certify
    4) They would approve of prostitution
    5) they oppose Public education
    6) They oppose the Draft, apparently want to withdraw all overseas bases
and they apparently believe the military is only for Defense of the USA only
They probably would want to cut the current military manpower.

    Here is the entire platform

Here is their page on issues

    But I do like this
...political parties should be free to establish their own rules for nomination procedures, primaries and conventions. We call for an end to any tax-financed subsidies to candidates or parties and the repeal of all laws which restrict voluntary financing of election campaigns. ...

I am a Libertarian and I am opposed to all abortions. It is hard to come up with an exact number but the common estimate is that around 1/3 of libertarians are pro-life. So you might want to take that broad brush you are using and trim it a bit.

The few Libertarian Party primaries are non-binding “beauty contests”. They are basically meaningless. The presidential and vice presidential candidates are chosen by delegates to the national convention.

I assumed you knew what I meant-
Thus I have clarified my statement in post #12

I do not agree with my political party 100%

and there are some things I do agree with the Libertarian Party

But overall - there is no way I would register with the LP
thought in NY with our fusion ballot, I would accept their nomination if offered.

I don’t expect you to. :Biggrin I am quite aware that I am a lonely voice on a board like this where it is pretty much all Trump, all GOP, all the time. ;)

You might be surprised - but then again - many do not want to express their views.

and BB does have our share of Trump haters.
