John of God? - Healer? - Yikes!

Just wanted reaction to the story about "John of God" on TV last night. I think it was sad to see so many people fooled into traveling that far to not get the healing they wanted. It also showed how our bodies in a certain "healing" enviroment and with positive thinking can help themselves to heal. "John of God" is how I think of Benny Hinn and other TV healers. Nice try, but in the end almost no one is completely healed. Not a single person they followed last night was completely healed and only one, as I saw it, had a good improvement, that being the brain tumor guy. You also didn't see crippled hands become straight or new limbs grown.

Any other reactions to this great healer??

I watched it, too, and I was also saddened at the trust folks put into the fellow. Even when told she still had cancer and needed surgery, the one woman chose John's "therapy" over that. I wonder what ultimately happened to her. Bottom line - he seemed sincere (they all do) but he's an idiot.

"John of God" is not of the God I serve. In the story when I heard that he had (what?) 30 dead doctors that would take him over and do the surgery. That tipped me off right there!

I feel bad for the people who are being decived and who don't know their bibles good enough to know better.

This man is not of God!! No way Jose'.

Music is right, when the dead Dr's were mentioned, that was my first clue. It is most likely that he is being invaded by demons, not Dr's.

This man is in no way shape or form(I repeat myself) from God.

I pray for all the poor people that fall for that, or any other false healer.

Obviously this man is either a charlatan or demon posessed.

You know, I'm of two minds about the people who come to him. Yes, these are people in great need who deserve truth and love and hope... but with the wealth of information available, isn't it kind of their own fault if they fall for this kind of evil?

I certainly don't mean that in the cold and careless way it doubtless sounds, but I am operating under the confines of the written word.

Tragic_pizza....if the people haven't heard the truth I wouldn't think its not their fault (but they are still lost), but if they heard the truth and rejected it, then it would be.

Now speaking of the truth and the people hearing the truth. I just did a web search on AOL trying to find out what kind of missonaries are in Abadiania, Brazil. I found what I presume is a Catholic one there. Surely there has to be more than this? Does anyone know how to find out what kind of missonaries are in that area?

I agree, but I'm not even speaking of Truth here, just rational fact-finding. There is a wealth of information concerning charlatans and false healers. It's doubly sad that desperation or ignorance would drive someone to seek such a person oout.

Oh my! Ya'll I just found the website! What is the deal with the triangles hanging on the wall? Also in this site the buttons on the page are triangles. (I don't think I'm alowed to post the link because it definetly goes aginst BB beliefs.) But at the web site there is more stuff that wasn't mentioned on the TV show. He also goes to Germany!
