    >>>>He was in line with what he was elected to do and the federal judge was out of line to usurp authority over a state, where the constitution forbids him to do. <<<<<<<<

No, you are mistaken. The Constitution says that the Constitution is the Supreme Law of the land, and has certain jurisdictions. In past times, in the 1950s and 1960s, southern courts and state officials tried to defy the federal courts. They failed. Judge Moore will fail also. This is settled law and there is no doubt about it, that Judge Moore is obligated to obey the federal court. Here is article 6:

This Constitution, and the laws of the United States which shall be made in pursuance thereof; and all treaties made, or which shall be made, under the authority of the United States, shall be the supreme law of the land; and the judges in every state shall be bound thereby, anything in the Constitution or laws of any State to the contrary notwithstanding.

Then may God bless Judge Moore for at least attempting to stand up to the tyranny of the false interpretation of the U.S. Constitution by a federal judge. [IMG]

It did, by preserving the Union. </font>[/QUOTE]"It's" way of saving was to burn major cities, cut off ports from every type of commerce, destroy fields and houses, rape women and leave husbands or potential husbands for less than half of them, and deliberately ruin the economy, from which some parts have never caught back up with the rest of the country?

Do not be surprised by the views of someone who thinks God is an "it"-- an object or concept, and not a person.

"It"? You think God is an inanimate force?

By the way, the Confederate Constitution is basically the same as the USA Constitution with two exceptions -

    1) It banned the importation of slaves from foreign countries.

    Section IX.

The importation of negroes of the African race from any foreign country other than the slaveholding States or Territories of the United States of America, is hereby forbidden; and Congress is required to pass such laws as shall effectually prevent the same.

Congress shall also have power to prohibit the introduction of slaves from any State not a member of, or Territory not belonging to, this Confederacy.

    2) It recognized God explicitly in the preamble.

We, the people of the Confederate States, each State acting in its sovereign and independent character, in order to form a permanent federal government, establish justice, insure domestic tranquillity, and secure the blessings of liberty to ourselves and our posterity--invoking the favor and guidance of Almighty God--do ordain and establish this Constitution for the Confederate States of America.

Those people badmouth Christians anyway. You'll not win them over by kowtowing to them politically.
