Can Humans Travel to Another Galaxy?
Assuming energy and sublight speeds are not limited.
The travellers would, let us say were to go to Andromeda Galaxy. And were to, for them, take a week to go there and not spend time there and take a week to come back. Assuming our Lord didn't return before they had gotten there to begin with, and again, not before they returned to Earth. It would be some five million years later on Earth.

A Milky way is a little shorter than the average hand.

Being gone two weeks. Earth is 5 million years later. It could be different in ways we might not be able to imagine.

The paradox of travel near the speed of light: Time slows down for those traveling near the speed of light, because at the speed of light time stops and it would take no time to go to infinity and beyond. However, those left behind continue to age at our rate and would be long gone upon return of the "aged less" travelers.

Reading that article, I got to thinking. Suppose an evolutionist appears before God at the Great White Throne Judgement and says, "But life and the universe just evolved." Maybe God will point to the trillions of galaxies, each with trillions of stars, and say, "You could not possibly be more wrong. With all of these possible places for things to evolve, they did so nowhere. You stand guilty before your Creator."

Did you ever see a model of our solar system. Did you realize it was way out of proportion?

Lets say the Sun's diameter is about 0.8 million miles and the distance between the Sun and Pluto is about 4 billion miles.

Now if the Sun was depicted as having the diameter of a basketball, about 9.5" then Pluto would be placed about 3/4 mile away. :)

Why do you believe that? If “time stopped” at the speed of light, the light from the Sun would never reach earth.

Tell me how I am wrong.

    peace to you

Relativity theory. Time for a photon is "stopped," not for its human observer.

    Does light experience time?

To imagine our entire galaxy—the Milky Way—reduce the sun to the size of a grain of sand, the nearest star would be 5 miles away.
Hundreds of millions of stars would lie within a few thousand miles of that grain of sand.
Our galaxy has as many as 300 billion stars.

If our solar system were to be shrunk to the size of that grain of sand, our galaxy would span the size of a large city.

I guess that’s why they call it a theory. It’s just speculation. Theories must be observed, measured and then duplicated to have any validity.

Nothing in the link demonstrated any study or experiment to test the theory.

Since we are stuck experiencing time, and the particle (supposedly) does not, no experiment can be devised to test the theory.

I say the particle experiences time, otherwise it cannot travel through space.

I haven’t been proven wrong yet.

    peace to you

The link wasn’t attempting to prove the theory or offer experimental support. But that's for another thread.

In the meantime, there's a big wide Internet out there just waiting to be asked questions. And, yes, they have done experiments, and continue to. The theory has tons of experimental support at this point. Also, it predicts a lot more than just this aspect.

But why even care? Surely it doesn’t cross swords with your theology?

I really love science and I tend to have a logical mind. If someone makes a statement, I’m curious if it’s really true or just speculation.

And, my theology tells me only God exists outside of time.

As far researching the internet, no thank you. Someone else made the statement. Let them support it. I have no desire to disprove anything.

I suspect that I will find a variety of opinions on whether light particles experience time.

But, you are correct, that should be another thread.

How big is the galaxy? Big enough for me to say, Wow!! God is really great and powerful!!!!

    peace to you

You can trust me on this, I am presenting accurately the necessity of Einstein's theory of Relativity. You can google it.

    Really??

Well, I believe an alternative translation of Einstein’s theory is that light particles do, in fact, experience time, otherwise they would not move through space.

Einstein’s theory has simply been distorted, and his words misquoted, by people with a pre-existing, and false doctrine, concerning the space/time continuum.

You refuse to see the meaning of his theory in the context in which it was written.

Just answer me this…. How does the Star Trek Enterprise move through space faster than the speed of light, traveling many light years, and they return to earth and only a few months pass, not millions of years?

Hummmm? Hummmm? Can’t answer that one, can you?

    peace to you
