While Congress considers taxing auto and industrial pollution, a U.N. report fingers another guilty party — cows.

The U.N. accuses our bovine buddies of producing 18 percent of the world's greenhouse-gas emissions — more than planes, trains and automobiles combined.

Well...if they are going to tax people anyway for this, I'd rather they tax people appriopriately. If diary farms and beef ranches account for a significant portion of the thing they want to tax, then tax them.

Now, I obviously don't agree with the taxing to begin with, but if it's going to happen, let it be done in a fair manner. Automobile drivers shouldn't be the only ones to shoulder the burden.

Taxes on dairy/beef farmers will drive them out of business. The cost of milk and beef will skyrocket as supply dwindles to meet demand. Only the very rich will be able to enjoy a steak. Hamburger chains and steak house chains will either switch to soy burgers and soy milkshakes or be driven out of business. Forget the average drive-thru for a burger, shake, and fries, expect to see massive closings in the restaurant business and more unemployment from beef producers down the food chain, including processing plants, truck drivers, restaurant employees, butcher shops, grocery stores, and more.

Just more proof that liberals have lost the ability to reason and come to logical conclusions. This whole "green" thing is a bunch of baloney. I guess liberals can blame God since He made cows to have the bodily functions they have.

nope, everyone would should the burden, everyone who eats any meat, uses milk or cheese, other dairy products, isn't going to cost the farmers anything, it's really a tax on us.
