I have a new legislative hero.

    It's a very short list.

No apology is necessary. Maybe a medal.

A stunt by the gentleman testifying. It's refreshing to see a politician call these politically-correct types on it.

I agree that English should be our official language but it is not! Person has a right to speak any language and it was decent of him to bring an interpreter.

Please give me a reference to where an individual has a "right" to speak a foreign lanuage. I appluad the Senator - its time to make tough decisions - and one of them is to make English the offical lanuage.

Suppose a town was to declare its offical lanuage as spanish?

I, at 66 years of age have found it good for me to learn Spanish because I need it to witness and to interact with the illegal element in SE Texas. Please, catch that, the illegal people! For a foreigner to step forward after having hidden in this country for over two decades and attempt to influence the law-makers in the law making process is indeed an insult!

I have a lot of respect for old fossils like myself that have illegally crossed the border, seeking a better life, it´s hard to learn the most difficult language in the world! But when a man or a woman, middle aged at that, have ferreted themselves away in this country for over twenty years and do not feel like they can testify in english? That is just manure!
