The text books also exclude a lot of Americans and cross sections of America when it teaches "American History". I guess I'm crazy enough to believe one can be a good American and not be able to name any branch of government or any president for that matter. In case you can tell, I disagree with the author of that story... I believe the fact that 50% can't name the three branches of government IS the identity of America.
