A Bible Study recently caused me to shout like a Sioux Indian at a War Party!! I just got to thinkin' about a couple of passages of scripture that really reached out and grabbed me and thought I'd pass it along to readers--

Matthew's gospel accounts the Wise Men's confrontation with Herod--

Matthew 2: 1-2 reads, "Now when Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judaea in the days of Herod, the king, behold, there came wise men from the east to Jerusalem, saying, Where is He that is born King of the Jews? . . ." That little statement there "King of the Jews" was a stigma that stayed with Jesus throughout . . .

Follow me on down to John's gospel--John 19: 19 reads, "And Pilate wrote a title, and put it on the cross. And the writing was, JESUS OF NAZARETH, THE KING OF THE JEWS."

This is why He was born!!!! This is why He died!! To be King of Jews! And bless His name--He lets dirty ole Gentiles in on it too!!!

From the Cradle to the Cross--to David's Throne!! King of the Jews!! Oh, dear reader--are you saved? Does the King of Jews live in your heart? Paul says, "He is a Jew who is one inwardly!" Ask the Holy Spirit right now---"Holy Spirit! Am I saved?? Have I been born again??" He'll tell you the truth!!

    Your friend,
    Blackbird

Is 9:6 For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.
7 Of the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom , to order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice from henceforth even for ever. The zeal of the LORD of hosts will perform this.

BB, I am not sure that this expression is appropriate (it's insensitive and stereotypical), in fact it may get you into the kind of trouble that Trent Lott is in right now. How about "a Baptist at a church potluck" instead. :D

    Brother CircuitRider!
This is Blackbird speakin'! Listen, dear Brother! I didn't make that statement in a way of sarcasm or as a derogatory remark--nor am I trying to downplay the Indian nations--I am not superior to them--I said the remark as an expression of how I feel. My real last name is Crowe--it was taken from the Crow Indian tribe in which some of my ancestors were--If you drew a vile of blood from my veins and held it under a microscope---and studied my DNA and whatever else--you would be able to say that ole Blackbird has some Crow Indian blood in him.

If it offends you or someone else you know--or if you think the Baptist Board could get into some big "Trent Lott" trouble over a little innocent gesture--then ask the moderator to delete it---but, hey! Next time my comment may well be "Feelin' like a million bucks!"--is that gonna be an infrengement upon Millionaires or upon poor folks, or upon depressed folks because Blackbird feels like a "Million" and they don't?? The question we need to ask is---sooner or later any and all gestures coming out of our mouths will appear insulting to just about everyone--so to avoid the insults--we just won't talk to each other--we won't communicate! We won't express our oppions because somebody might get hurt because "my oppinion may be 180 degrees different from yours" And the day we don't talk--we'll be in trouble!! Nobody will laugh anymore! Nobody will joke anymore! No one talkin' to each other will send us back to the Dark Ages!! And who wants to go there???

Other than that--me and you--we're "tight"--man,--you see, because we both love the Lord Jesus Christ with all of our hearts and minds and souls and bodies--and we love our neighbors--wether they be black, white, yellow, or red!! Amen!

    I'll always be your friend,
    Blackbird

Matthew 15:24  But he answered and said, I am not sent but unto the lost sheep of the house of Israel.

This is way he came the first time, the second time --

John 14:3  And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.

I can't wait for that day. [IMG]

OOOOHHHH, HomeBound!! Don't you just love the Lord Jesus Christ?? I heard Dr. Adrian Rogers say once, "I love the name of Jesus! It fits just right in my mouth!!!"

Lets just thank Him for comin' this Christmas!! And lets just thank Him for comin' again--we can thank Him "ahead of time" for that!!

    Zech. 14:4-9
14:4 And his feet shall stand in that day upon the mount of Olives, which is before Jerusalem on the
east, and the mount of Olives shall cleave in the midst thereof toward the east and toward the west,
and there shall be a very great valley; and half of the mountain shall remove toward the north, and
half of it toward the south.
14:5 And ye shall flee to the valley of the mountains; for the valley of the mountains shall reach unto
Azal: yea, ye shall flee, like as ye fled from before the earthquake in the days of Uzziah king of
Judah: and the LORD my God shall come, and all the saints with thee.
14:6 And it shall come to pass in that day, that the light shall not be clear, nor dark:
14:7 But it shall be one day which shall be known to the LORD, not day, nor night: but it shall come
to pass, that at evening time it shall be light.
14:8 And it shall be in that day, that living waters shall go out from Jerusalem; half of them toward
the former sea, and half of them toward the hinder sea: in summer and in winter shall it be.
14:9 And the LORD shall be king over all the earth: in that day shall there be one LORD, and his
    name one.

Praise You precious Lord for we await Your glorious return, for Your precious Bride, the blood-bought, born-again, redeemed to Glory, children of the Living God.

    Jesus, immortal King, arise!
    Assert Thy rightful sway,
Till earth, subdued, its tribute brings,
    And distant lands obey.

    Ride forth, victorious Conqueror, ride,
    Till all Thy foes submit,
And all the powers of hell resign
    Their trophies at Thy feet.

Send forth Thy Word and let it fly
    The spacious earth around,
Till every soul beneath the sun
    Shall hear the joyful sound.

O may the great Redeemer’s Name
    Through every clime be known,
    And heathen gods, forsaken, fall,
    And Jesus reign alone!

From sea to sea, from shore to shore,
    Be thou, O Christ, adored,
And earth with all her millions shout
    Hosannas to the Lord!
