Conservative commentator Charles Krauthammer said over the weekend that the U.S. “joined the jackals” when it abstained from the United Nations vote condemning Jews for living in the Jewish quarter of Jerusalem.
Quoting the late Democratic Sen. Pat Moynihan (N.Y.), Krauthammer offered his thoughts on the controversial U.N. resolution, which was adopted Friday.
“What happened today is that the United States joined the jackals at the U.N.,” Krauthammer said on Fox News.
Calling the action “appalling,” Krauthammer noted that the resolution effectively declares any Jew living in Jerusalem’s Jewish quarter, which has been inhabited by the Jewish people for a millennium, an outlaw. He added that any Jew found to be in violation of the resolution can be tried in a criminal court in Israel or European international court.
