Latino Leaders: Obama’s Executive Order Doesn’t Solve Immigration Problem

(CNSNews.com) - Leaders in the Latino community say President Barack Obama’s executive order granting as many as five million illegal aliens temporary legal status is less about compassion for undocumented Latinos and more about setting a political “trap” for Republicans while not solving the nation’s immigration problem.
Will the GOP use the upcoming Continuing Resolution to defund the president’s amnesty plan? Will they consider impeachment? Will they come up with their own plan knowing Obama will likely veto any bill that puts border security ahead of a pathway to citizenship for the estimated 11 million people that are in the country illegally?

“Clearly his action and the fact that he chose to do it now, he’s throwing a hand grenade into the mix, and he’s setting a trap for the Republicans,” Mario Lopez, president of the Hispanic Leadership Fund, told CNSNews.com.

It's possible a beneficial side effect of the executive order would be to "set a trap" for Republicans so to speak but did Lopez actually address how it wouldn't fix the immigration problem? Does he specify what it is they want? I mean a lot of the stuff he did mention he is getting from the Executive Order. The only thing Lopez mentioned that I'm not sure was addressed by Obama was wanting a transient policy allowing workers to work and return home and return to work when they want. I don't really like that idea all that much because that sounds like a good way to open a network of criminal activity with the back and forth between countries.

We know what he wants. Full citizenship for any illegal in the country now and any that might show up in the future. then just open up the federal check book and start taking care of all those unfortunate people.

Yeah I know I read it but what do you think of Lopez's desire to open up a working program for people to go back and forth between countries. That was the only thing he wanted that wasn't already addressed by Obama during his speech Thursday night.

It could be a good thing but it is not what the dems want. They want new voters. So they are going to keep things in turmoil and disarray and try to capitalize on it to allow voters for their party. Their goal is to make sure that no one but far left extreme dems are in control of any houses of our legislation. If we actually fix this then they will lose that opportunity.

That is why Obama is doing this now. If he waits on congress that he will lose this opportunity and they will not increase voters for 2016. They want more voters illegal or otherwise at all costs.

Maybe, but I don't really think it is a good thing. Everybody talks about the security of the borders but I see people going back and forth like that as a potentially dangerous way of opening up a network for organized crime. If people want to work in the U.S. then they should immigrate and work here. I don't recall if that was addressed in the executive order but it would be interesting to find out.

If people can go back and forth it will take away the felt need to do it illegally. The network of organized crime is already going on. My thing is we need to secure the border very tight and be free to limit guest workers based on our countries needs so we do not over flood our work force.

There may be organized crime but I feel like this would simply make it easier. It would be easier to just get a job in the U.S. and come and go as you please through officially opened channels then trying to sneak back and forth. I think streamlining the immigration process as discussed in the speech thursday night would be a big incentive for people to immigrate legally. He did also mention strengthening the borders to make it more difficult to get here illegally. How he plans to do that interests me. I would guess that improving the assets down south would have to be part of that.

That also begs the question, if he has a legitimate plan to do this then I wonder what parts of the Executive Order the Republicans would choose to fight since they are probably in agreement on that part of the order.

It is about more than just reading his mind. It is about knowing some things.

1. Obama is willing to look the American people in the eye and flat out lie about what he is going to do.

2. Obama is willing to deceive the American people about his agenda.

3. The Democrat agenda is to put themselves in a position that only they will ever be in charge of the legislative branches.

4. The Dems want to make voters out of illegals.


These are substantiated facts. That is what I am basing my position off of. See one of the problems the dems have had with coming to an agreement on immigration is Republicans do not trust Obama to acutally enforce the border section of it. He has shown that he is willing to just ignore laws he doesn't like. His abuse of discretion is the obstruction here not republicans.
