Trump sued for blocking some of his critics on Twitter

NEW YORK (AP) — First Amendment advocates are suing President Donald Trump, saying some of his critics have been unconstitutionally blocked from following him on Twitter.
I don't think it is as laughable as I did at first glance.

Maybe President Trump should have retired social media after his candidacy and not have used Twitter as a forum for his presidency. (Until now I haven't considered implications about blocking critics, but for months I've noticed how "un-presidential" President Trump is with some of these types of things....mostly with this one thing). His staff needs to do him the favor of replacing his smart phone with a flip phone and advising him to let the "White House" respond.

I've searched the Constitution looking for where it spells out the right to read someone's Twitter account and I didn't find anything.

President Trump uses Twitter to speak directly to the people.

That's what they want.

That's what he provides.

Wait, he blocks others!

They deserve it :Roflmao

One has nothing to do with the other.

The fact that his twitter remarks are unpresidential are completely unrelated
To the OP, yes, I agree. His critics would be there regardless as to the content of his tweets.

My comment is directed more to a US President personally using social media to address the nation. The presidency transcends President Trump, and the office of the presidency includes the structure of the White House with public affairs personnel.

Some of us think President Trump has more important things to do than follow what he believes to be a corrupt media in order to tweet about them.

If I tweeted As much as the President then I wouldn't be able to do important stuff, like respond on this forum. :Cautious

He would be better off, IMHO, if he would use the White House. I would love to see the President responding as President Trump rather than Donald "the Don" Trump.

Since they constantly and intentionally misrepresent him I would say this is not true. In fact it is the very reason Americans voted for him. Guys like Bush took the hits and did nothing to fight back. Americans want someone to fight back. They have been yearning for it. Now they got it. Now they like it.

Maybe.

What the liberals can't see to this very day - the hubbub they are fomenting insures that President Trump's name is constantly voiced not only here in the USA but globally, increasing his likability as a no nonsense non-political, non-institutional, non-establishment president.

The more he does it the more Americans like it. What is often referred to as "Presidential" is not seen as such by many Americans. What is seen as Presidential is to fight against wrong and stand up and say so when it happens. Others like Bush never did.

This is true. So many want to see someone in the White House that they can identify with on a personal level.

For me (and maybe because of my experience in the military) I want a President that is "above my paygrade". And I believe President Trump is, but at the same time he is giving America an appearance of commonality that exceeds transparency (for what ever transparency is worth at that level of government). It may facilitate trust with some, but for me it has the opposite effect.

Yay! Insult the liberals! Get back at the media!

Meanwhile...
Where's my tax cut?
Where's my ObamaCare repeal?
Where's my Wall?
Where's my immigration reform?
Where's my booming economy?
When will we start winning so much we're sick of it?

It's all in the works.

#1 on my list for voting for him.

And if he never accomplishes anything else at all, it would still have been worth voting him into office.
Agreed, and most likely with one or two other assignments to follow.
