How do we stop playing their game? let them arrest us?
Sometimes........ when there are 'bad' laws.... someone has to take this risk. A challenge to the law if successful may get the law removed or changed.
Sometimes to get a law challenged, it takes disobedience to the law. This may cause a court challenge which may or may not end successfully: An acquittal does not necessarily cause the law to be changed. Neither does the attention of a trial mean it is going to get attention or change of law. Often times one is placing themselves at risk .....both materially and by reputation ......cause so many do not agree with or see the concerns of that individual or group of individuals concerning the dangerous aspects of the law:
Often times..... and we have many who think this way..... even discerning Christians equivocate man's law as equal to God's law..... and disobedience to man's law as disobeying God. Man's law does not have to be immoral to still be an unjust or unfair law. In this country, all laws are supposed to be measured by the constitution and the declaration which states that God gives us unalienable rights..... rights which are not subject to the ordinances of man except to the limits to which we are willing to comply.
Though enforcement of man's law may declare me to be a criminal, when I've done no real crime except that I refused to comply.... it is the law which should be judged.... even though very likely, I might become an example of the power of government's determination to enforce a law which would call me a criminal. God gave me my unique genetic features and I'm made in his image.... my unique characteristics and the history of my life is before God and no business or consequence to another as long as I obey those basic commandments...... don't murder, don't covet, don't lie, don't steal, don't fornicate, serve and worship God and honor parents.
I was born in this country to American parents, 62 years ago. I've lived all my life in this country and most in the area of my current residence. I'm not against having a photo identification for purposes of driving, writing checks, or other 'ordinary' verification of identification. But this law will allow centralizing a data base based upon man's own ideas of what constitutes security and identity. The ones in charge are no more holy and righteous than I and some may be more capable of corruption than myself: Maintained in the hands of strangers, it is beyond my powers to control access or who or how it is used: It is beyond my power to defend, to know if error has occurred, to know how to correct.... to know what is included or what might have been missed.... which may be the only avenue I'd have to prove the difference between myself and someone who might 'pose' for me. With genetic engineering and other techniques in intelligence now being devised..... there is no way of knowing just how my or another citizen's biologics could be used to set up a situation in which they are fraudulently accused.
True, like many say.... all this data is already and publicly available. But is it? What about our President? What schools did he attend? When? What courses were taken? Who were his teachers? Who are the people who could 'vouch' as knowing him during the course of those years? His roommates? His classmates? His friends?
If I have similar information regarding myself.....is it better and safer that I have to request it from the school only when it is needed.... or left to the judgement of bureaucrats whether to release all or partial data from a central location? What about medical information? Could genetics become a mining field for suitable donors for transplants? Could genetic information expose the various vulnerabilities of a population to disorders and predispositions to or resistance to disease over others? Could a suspicious lesion or a tentative diagnosis become a diagnosis in the permanent collected record which presupposes one into a category of insurance risk, or medical outcomes or modalities of treatments based upon assumptions of health and longevity.... less favorable than had such been omitted or under control of and between the doctor and patient? Okay! Call this paranoia! That's a subjective and diagnostic term.... suitable for use in fields like psychiatry and psychology.... but of public use and 'understandings' which are often prejudicial even when partially understood. So psychological characteristics.... whether drawn by a professional examination (with or without the patient's knowledge) or the consequence of layman's characterizing a person ...... may also find its ways into the centralized records.
I know that all this knowledge is safe in the mind of God, my Creator, who has no other than his best desires upon me.... in both my strengths and my weaknesses.
I cannot believe that this collection of knowledge in the hands of man and his imaginations to work his selfish will can serve a greater good more than it can serve a greater evil.
