Lawyers representing accused Christmas Day bomber Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab said Thursday they have met with federal prosecutors several times to try to resolve the case.
The disclosure, made in a filing in federal court, reflects the strength of the government's case and gave the strongest indication the Nigerian man is cooperating to avoid spending the rest of his life in prison, lawyers said.

I'd hate to be this guy's lawyer. The only thing preventing this guy from being a mass murderer is sheer dumb luck. He faces up to life on the WMD charge, and I think life would be a just sentence. The attempted murder charge is only a 20-year felony, but this guy tried to kill hundreds of people.
