Many states or commonwealths require that local govts put legal announcements in local papers for informational purposes.
A local TV investigator reporter did a report

The theory is that the INTERNET is wildly available and virtually all governments have a website. Thousands of taxpayer dollars go to pay for these legal ads.

So what do you think? Go web, stay papers, or a combination with less in the papers.

The purpose is to protect the person being repo'd. Maybe an official government repo web site would work better. It would also work for marriages and divorces which are sort of a modified repo of something. One person's freedom, another's gravy train.

I think that for the sake of the elderly and others who are not on the internet, they should be posted in hard copy.

As of about three or four years ago, the township I grew up in still stapled their legal notices to utility poles.

They are posted in your county courthouse - that is the general required practice.

To the best of my knowledge that is true.
