President Obama, in his first public comments on the controversial trade of five Taliban prisoners for Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl since the deal was announced, acknowledged Tuesday there's "absolutely" a risk that the former Guantanamo inmates will try to return to the battlefield -- but nevertheless defended the deal as in America's interest.

"I wouldn't be doing it if I thought that it was contrary to American national security," Obama said.

The president is facing heavy criticism from Congress for negotiating the release of the "Taliban Dream Team" and for proceeding with the prisoner swap without telling lawmakers in advance. Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., in an interview with Fox News on Monday, said the prisoners -- high-ranking Taliban leaders -- are "hell-bent on killing Americans."

Speaking in Poland at the first stop of a European tour, Obama did not deny that the prisoners could try again to target Americans.

"Is there the possibility of some of them trying to return to activities that are detrimental to us? Absolutely," Obama said. "That's been true of all the prisoners that were released from Guantanamo. There's a certain recidivism rate that takes place."

This man is a moron! This would be the equivalent of having Göering, Rommel, Himmler, Müller and Bormann in captivity during World War II and trading them for Pfc. Eddie Slovik.

This, on top of the fact that Bergdahl is privately suspected by military commanders of being more than just a deserter. He may have collaborated with the Taliban.

A senior official confirms to Fox News that the conduct of Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl -- both in his final stretch of active duty in Afghanistan and then, too, during his time when he lived among the Taliban -- has been thoroughly investigated by the U.S. intelligence community and is the subject of "a major classified file."

In conveying as much, the Defense Department source confirmed to Fox News that many within the intelligence community harbor serious outstanding concerns not only that Bergdahl may have been a deserter but that he may have been an active collaborator with the enemy.

The Pentagon official added pointedly that no relevant congressional committee has sought access to the classified file, but that if such a request were made, key committee chairs would, under previous precedent, likely be granted access to it. Separately, the Pentagon confirmed Monday that it is looking into claims Americans died during the search for Bergdahl

Members of Bergdahl's unit say that he asked extremely high-level questions regarding methodology and reasoning behind patrols, processes involved in executing missions and other questions that were not typical of a fresh green soldier on his first overseas assignment.

Bergdahl is refusing to speak English in Germany where he is being "decompressed from his captivity," again according to this traitorous White House. The LMD baffled intelligence community members by appearing in the Rose Garden Saturday with Robert Bergdahl, the deserter's son. He has actively and openly sympathized with the Taliban and is known to have exchanged Twitter message with a Taliban spokesman. He himself is at least giving aid and comfort to the enemy and may be a traitor as well.

The degree of arrogance and level of disdain for U.S. law and the Congress displayed by the traitor in the Oval Office is impeachable, yet the Republicans do nothing. His absolute hatred of the U.S. becomes more apparent every day, and it is time something be done about it.
