Super Bowl XL won’t be the only attraction that people will be talking about in Detroit. On February 3-5, LLM's Truth Truck will be on the streets of Detroit to show the reveling masses the hard truth about abortion. For more than three decades, America has sacrificed its children to be killed on the altar of convenience. Each year comes and goes with its parties, celebrations, and games. Little thought is given to the fact that babies are daily being murdered as we live our lives to the fullest.

Will there be another 30+ years of blood to answer for in this Land of the Free and Home of the Brave? We can be sure of one thing. If we continue to oppose abortion with the fervor and commitment that has characterized our last 30 years, child sacrifice will be here for the duration.

Fancy PR letters don’t save babies. Proclaiming that we are pro-life doesn’t save babies. If we care to see the innocent protected we must do more than we are doing now.

Abortion is just an “issue” among other “issues” to most in the Body of Christ. It will be a fearful day of reckoning when we answer for our complacency as one baby out of every four has their limbs torn from their bodies. Are we too consumed with our lives to care? Really?

The Truth Truck won’t stop all of the killing, but it is just one powerful tool in the battle. When men and women are forced to see the sin that they tolerate, they are brought to a crossroads. Ignoring the “issue” of child sacrifice becomes a difficult thing. We need to see the truth to deal with the truth.

LLM’s Truth Truck will be leaving for Detroit on Thursday, Feb. 2 and will return to VA on Monday Feb. 6. Does LLM have an abundance on time free to do this? No. Does LLM have the finances stashed away to do this? No. We are trusting that you will get behind this endeavor with your prayers and support. I can guarantee that babies will be saved. When we show the truth of the plight of the murdered preborn, we often hear testimonies of mothers who were forever changed by the reality that they were forced to consider.

Here's what happened in Detroit last year...

Truth Truck Impounded In Detroit And LLM Director Dennis Green Is Arrested And Jailed

    February 04, 2006
LLM's Truth Truck was impounded today by the Detroit City Police, and Dennis Green, director of Life and Liberty Ministries, was arrested, cuffed and taken to jail.

LLM's Truth Truck arrived in town on Friday and met with immediate opposition from the Detroit Police Department.

On Friday evening, Dennis Green was issued a ticket for having no vehicle registration even as the ticketing officer held the reistration in his hand. Even though a supervisior was on the scene and was made aware of the bogus ticket, he refused to intervene and chose rather to let the injustice occur.

On Saturday, Feb. 4, LLM's Truth Truck was pulled over by several City police cars and Dennis Green was told that he could not drive the vehicle in the downtown area. Repeatedly the officers were asked to show the driver what ordinance was being violated but the officers instead only berated Mr. Green for his pro-life message and said that the truck was going to be impounded.

After towing the truck away, Dennis Green was issued a ticket for "Violation of temporary signage in the entertainment zone -- Failure to obtain petrmit." This was of course a ridiculous charge but it was the method used to remove the message from the street until after the Super Bowl.

Dennis was then approached and told that he was under arrest. He was cuffed, loaded into a police van and taken to jail.

Before towing the truck away, Mr. Green heard the police debating what was to be done with the truck. Two officers were talking about cutting the signs form the truck and the officer in charge was heard saying that he could not just issue a ticket because he believed it would not stop the truck from being driven. He said that the situation must be "dealt with by towing the vehicle away and holding it as evidence"

After three hours Dennis Green was bonded out of jail. He must appear in District Court on Wednesday, Feb. 8.

The Detroit Police Department is intolerant toward the Scriptural message that abortion is murder. Though the Detroit police department may feel that they won this battle, the King of the Universe remains intolerant of the shedding of innocent blood. His people will cry aloud and spare not until this and all sin is dealt with whether by repentance or judgement.

Free speech was the loser during the Super Bowl in Detroit. As you may have heard, Life and Liberty Ministries Director Dennis Green was arrested and jailed on Saturday and the LLM Truth Truck was impounded. Here is an update and a day by day recount of the harassment received from the DPD.

    Feb. 3, Friday
Dennis Green and Jerry Penner begin to drive around Detroit's downtown area.

The Truth Truck is stopped and Dennis Green is told that he cannot drive the Truck on the streets. The streets were filled with other vehicles and all traffic laws were being adhered to. When asked what law was being violated, the officer angrily demands Mr. Green's drivers license and vehicle registration. Both are produced and the officer leaves the vehicle momentarily. He returns with a ticket for not having a vehicle registration even though he was holding the current registration in his hand.

    Feb. 4, Saturday
12:00 - 2:40 PM - As The Truth Truck drove around the Cobo Center, it was stopped several times by officers saying that it could not drive on the street with the other traffic. Each time when asked what law was being violated, none was given. Mr. Green would eventually drive away with the officers acknowledging that it was his Constitutional Right to drive down the street.

2:40 PM - The Truck is pulled over by four police cars and an impolite officer rudely asks Mr. Green what he thinks he is doing. The officer demands proof of registration and drivers license. Both are produced. Dennis is then asked to get out of the vehicle to be frisked. He is then told to stand outside of the vehicle in the snow as the officers discuss their next move. Two officers are overheard discussing how they could cut the signs from the vehicle and the officer in charge calls for a tow truck. After approximately 30 minutes, Mr. Green is approached as he was standing on the street and placed under arrest. He was charged with "failure to obtain a permit".
Approximately 6:30PM - Dennis Green pays $100.00 bond to get out of jail.

    Feb. 5, Sunday
Approximately 2:00PM - Mark Gabriel pulls over to look at a map (with flashers on). He is driving a van with pro-life and Gospel messages on the sides. The DPD immediately pull up and order Mark and John Stambaugh out of the vehicle. The vehicle is impounded and they are left standing on the street.

Cal Zastrow and Dennis Green go from one police station to another seeking information on the status of the impounded Truth Truck. Either false information or no information is repeatedly given. One officer said that she would not speak with them when they asked for directions to a different precinct address. They give up searching for the day.
For a couple hours, Dennis Green, Cal Zastrow, Chris Coatney and Michael Marcavage preach to the crowds who are entering Ford Field for the Super Bowl. They are on a public street with thousands of others milling about.

DPD approach them and order them to cross the street. They obey. After standing in that location for several minutes, several police cars and a police prisoner transport van drive up. They are then ordered to drop their signs and leave the entired downtown area. They are told that signs are forbidden. Even as this is being said, there are many signs being held in the area by others. They are told that our signs specifically had to go since they deal with abortion. The signs are removed from their hands and an officer stands on them. They are given 60 seconds to leave the area or be arrested. When asked what law they had violated, none was given. When the officers were asked to identify themselves, they refused. When asked how far they had to go, they were told, "all the way to the river!" The officer in charge was the same that orchestrated Dennis Green's arrest the previous day.

    Feb. 6, Monday
DPD continues to refuse to give information about the Truth Truck's status.

    Feb. 7, Tuesday
Mark Gabriel's van is released after the payment of a $155.00 fee. In the late afternoon, the Truth Truck is finally released after a payment of a $250.00 fee.

    Feb. 8, Wednesday
8:30 - 12:00 - Dennis Green sits in a Courtroom waiting for his case to be called. He is called into the hallway where an officer tells him that there is no paperwork on file and he can just go home.

In other words, he is asked to leave town and act like this never happened. The American Family Association's Center for Law and Policy will be representing Dennis Green in this matter.

LLM's Truth Truck to be in Miami for upcoming Super Bowl

    2007 Super Bowl

I’ll be heading down to Miami with the Truth Truck in early February for our third annual Super Bowl witness. Please pray that the trip will be safe and that hearts will be changed. Hopefully the Miami police department will be nicer than the Detroit PD last year.
