The one by Dr Price is very balanced and even handed!

Dr Price book on this even handed, and Rick Norris holds to the MT and TR as being best Greek texts, so the KJVO cannot say that he likes :corrupted: texts versions!

Correct about Rick Norris. I've never discussed the textual issue with Dr. Price; oddly enough he was the OT editor for both the NKJV (traditional text) and Holman Christian Standard (critical text). But he's a Hebrew Scholar, not a Greek scholar, so hey, why not!

Think read in that book of his that he favors the critical Greek text, but with some "improvenments: made by the MT, so more of an eclectic view!

He has his own idiosyncratic method of computer aided textual criticism. His articles on that can be seen here: The Life and Research of James D. Price

I think this quote from his book describes Price's position succinctly:

Which to me means that he favors the critical greek text, with some changes when required!

Perhaps so, and maybe the best choice. However, it does not fulfill the original request as something that presents both sides and maybe even "somewhat biased to the KJV only argument," which is what I was commenting on.

I wonder if this is out of print? On Amazon there are two new available for $79.99 and used ones from $20 to $80 (and about the same on eBay). Maybe another purchasing source that is not coming up on a Google search?

The main problem with getting a balanced KJVO book is that there are not any!

    Yes, found it there, thanks.
Perhaps so. However, that was not what I was addressing either.

No authors who are promoting their own viewpoints on the issue are going to promote the other side of the issue. What someone should do, which would be worthwhile, in my opinion, is a book in the style of the "four views"/counterpoint series of Zondervan. Maybe something like KJV Only, TR Only, Majority Text Only, Critical Text Only, with the essays and each one's responses to the others. At least I am not aware that anything like this has ever been done.

Hi! I love this discussion. I am KJV "preferred" person. Took me a long time to get there...but now here I am! I was introduced to the KJV when my late husband and I joined an IFB congregation where we used to live. As an adult convert to Christianity, I hadn't been raised with the bible. I cut my baby Christian teeth on the NIV, moved to the NASB and ESV and finally ended up at the KJV. I finally found a KJV only church here where I live now and will be joining them for worship this Sunday.

Much, much better would be a KJV preferred, TR preferred, Majority Text preferred, Critical Text perferred.
To get rid of the only feature would make a much more interesting and thoughtful work.

I would certainly agree with leaving out the Ruckmanite/Riplingerite position. It's full of vitriol, quoting out of context, etc., etc.

As for the others, there is usually not a Byz./Maj. only, or a Critical only.

Think the book by Dr price though was very balanced, as pointed out the strengths and weaknesses of each viewpoint in regards to Greek textual evidence!

So you prefer the Kjv as being the best version available, but the other ones are acceptable also to use!

Agreed, as no one should be an "only", but in the preferred camp!
