Anyone have any thoughts on why man lived 900+ years early in the OT and later did not.

Seeing that sin had not long entered the world, and death by sin, I would say there were not the diseases etc that were increased later by the continuance of sin.

Of course, it could be just good genes. :D

It seems to begin to tail off dramatically after the flood. IMHO, that gives some credence to certain aspects of the canopy theory.

I would tend to agree with Lacy...A man came to our church several years ago and told of experiments he was involved with that utilized a hyperbaric chamber, certain levels of nitrogine and oxygine, and an increased magneetic field around the chamber to simulate the environment before the flood within the chamber. He told us of plants and animals that were raised in the chamber that grew to huge proportions. He also said after a period of time in the chamber a venomous snake would no longer be venemous...I dont recall who he was but I do know he was from Texas....maybe that has something to do with it. That sounds like the guy from the Creation Science Museum in glenrose.. I can't think of his name... They have some neat stuff there. They are currently building a large scale hyperbaric chamber that they intend to use to grow dinosaurs, I believe [IMG]

If you are interested. Note: this site is very controversial. Dr. Baugh's credentials have been disputed by some.

I, however, find much of it very interesting.

Also there was a genetic 'bottleneck' at the flood. A kind of 'super'-natural selection (because God chose them) that wiped a lot of the diversity of the gene pool at that time. Therefore, more genetic abnormalities, etc.
