Planes to keep Russian jubilee dry
    Friday, May 23, 2003 Posted: 1208 GMT ( 8:08 PM HKT)

MOSCOW, Russia -- Russian cloud-seeding planes will be in the skies to keep St. Petersburg free from rain during the city's 300th anniversary festivities.

On orders from President Vladimir Putin, 10 planes equipped with chemical charges will try to keep Russia's second city dry as tourists and world leaders attend the jubilee celebration.

"Our aim is to empty all clouds of rain before they hit the city borders," Vladimir Stepanenko of St. Petersburg's Geophysics Observatory told The Times of London.

Since the Soviet era, Russians have sought to control the weather, developing techniques to halt or induce rain as well as stop hail from damaging crops.

The observatory in St. Petersburg used cloud-seeding planes to keep the city dry during the 1994 Goodwill Games, the St. Petersburg Times reported.

For the city's jubilee, Putin -- a St. Petersburg native -- will be joined by U.S. President George W. Bush, British Prime Minister Tony Blair and dozens of other heads of state on May 30-31.

Thousands of anniversary events, including parades, exhibits and concerts, are planned from Friday through June 1. (full story)

Not only silly, but ill-informed. It would take up to 20 atomic bombs to equal the force of one Cat5 hurricane. All the EM generators in the world couldn't come remotely close to harnessing this much force.

FEMA in 2001 ranked hurricane flood damage to New Orleans among the three likeliest most catastrophic disaster facing America. The other two were 9-11 and a massive Los Angeles or San Fransico earthquake.

Two out of three disasters have occurred according to FEMA's warning, leaving a massive earthquake on the west coast yet to be accomplished.

Is it possible to cause a man made earthquake? See this article:

I'm hoping to move out of California before this happens. Those living in the Los Angeles and San Frasico area could be in grave danger.

Have the book 'Angels Don't Play This HAARP' by Dr. Nick Begich.

The author quotes an article from the New York Times of December 8, 1915:

"Nikola Tesla, the inventor, has filed patent applications on the essential parts of a machine, possibilities which test a layman's imagination and promise a parallel of Thor's shooting thunderbolts from the sky to punish those who had angered the gods....Suffice it to say that the invention will go through space with a speed of 300 miles a second, a manless ship without propelling engine or wings sent by electricity to any desired point on the globe on its errand of destruction, if destruction its manipulator wishes to effect.

It is perfectly practicable to transmit electrical energy without wires and produce destructive effects at a distance. I have already conctructed a wireless transmitter which makes this possible, and have described it in by technical publications, among which I refer to my patent number 1,119,732 recently granted. With transmitters of this kind we are enabled to project electrical energy in any amount to any distance and apply it for innumerable purposes, both in war and peace.

Compare "shooting thunder bolts from the sky" with Rev. 13:13

This is a theory floated decades ago by the John Birch Society.

    Yeah, Russian hurricane names like--Rita.

Sounds kind of wacko without any evidence.

My parents brought up an interesting point, though. Anytime something bad happens to Israel, something bad happens to the US. Could be coincidence... or it might not be. Thoughts?

Wanna know wierd? Guess who the reigns of power/control of the Space Center in Houston has been handed to temporarily during the evacuation, etc., from Rita?

Russia. Heard it on cable news (I think it was MSNBC) early this morning.

    Sorry for the thread hijack.

I'm not saying that there is man made hurricanes or it's the Russians or illuminati. But weather modification is and has been used. I believe I was reading about it in the 1970's in Popular Science.

    http://www.weathermod.com/

If the Russian military has been working on it we can be sure our military has also. Who knows what types of advanced gadgets they could have come up with by now?
