People are discarding masks like smoked cigarettes or empty beer cans—all over the place. It is thought that a billion and a half used masks will pollute the oceans, about 3 % of the 52 billion manufactured this year.

    Yuk. :(

    I dispose of mine properly.

The oceans are also filled with cigarette butts, plastic bags, glass/plastic bottles, fishing gear, tons of runoff from fertilizer on farms, food wrappers, and more.

This doesn't make fishing wrong or farming wrong or using plastic bags wrong or wearing a mask wrong.

It makes littering wrong and waste management ..... not so managed.

Masks aren't the bad guy here.

    Thanks.

You will have to explain to me how inanimate objects such as masks could be the bad guy.
