2 Thessalnians
1 Finally, brethren, pray for us, that the word of the Lord may have free course, and be glorified, even as it is with you:
Here we see exactly who Paul was addressing, the brethren. That is the believer not the unbeliever.
Agreed it is who Paul was speaking to
The Lord direct in your (bretheren) notice Paul hasn't in any of these verses changed who He is speaking to, it is the believer. God directs His Love into the the hearts of the Brethren, and into our patient wanting for the Return of Christ. Very clear he is not directing this to any unbeliever but to the brethren.
This post was an answer to a statement made from someone else concerning this verse below.
1Co 2:14 But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.
Paul was speaking to babes in Christ and natural men. Notice verse 1 of the next chapter. The same conversation is still going on.
1Co 3:1 And I, brethren, could not speak unto you as unto spiritual, but as unto carnal, even as unto babes in Christ.
1Co 3:2 I have fed you with milk, and not with meat: for hitherto ye were not able to bear it,
neither yet now are ye able.
1Co 3:3
For ye are yet carnal: for whereas there is among you envying, and strife, and divisions, are ye not carnal, and walk as men?
1Co 3:4 For while one saith, I am of Paul; and another, I am of Apollos; are ye not carnal?
1Co 3:5 Who then is Paul, and who is Apollos, but ministers by whom ye believed,
even as the Lord gave to every man?
These Paul spoke to were just beginning to believe and were still carnal. As I see it this shows men can believe and still be with out the Holy Spirit. It also shows men must believe in Jesus first before they can begin to understand spiritual things. How they begin to believe is by being fed milk as babes the milk of the word is digestible by natural men and babes in Christ.
All men must begin to believe with the milk of the word because they can't handle the meat. The same is true in all learning processes we all begin at the beginning and grow from there.
Salvation is not instant and neither is understanding.
This verse does not prove natural men cannot understand the milk of the word.but only the deep things of God 2nd Cor 2:10.
1Co 2:14 But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.
