A 10.6% cut in Medicare payments to physicians began July 1st.

After numerous attempts to prevent such cuts the Senate finally got their act together and voted to stop the drastic cut.

    Medicare veto overridden [link]

The override cancels a 10.6% paycut in reimbursments to physicians for services rendered to patients receiving Medicare that went into place July 1st.

If they want to cut something then start with their pay checks.

Whose, the Senators or the doctors?

Glad they overrode the veto. If this had stood even more doctors would have stopped taking Medicare patients and some would have had to stop seeing patients already under the care.

This is another froward looking glimpse of a government run health care plan.

Like it or hate it, when you turn 65 it is what you will have. If you are a Vet. you can go to the VA. Oh, that's right it is run by the gov. also.

Contrasted with the 'Insurance Company' run programs we have today. :(

Too many times I have bumped up against company reps that refuses to approve a physicians request for a medical study just because it doesn't meet their standards.

Too many times they approve studies on people that don't need them and disapprove them on people that do.

Wait until our government puts their hand in the till!

...but you really don't have to wait,
Remember the patient privacy act, that long unintelligible form that everybody has to sign ... but nobody reads or understands.
Compliments of our hard working government!

VA has been cut so bad now it is hardly worth having. I have a buddy who they believe had a stroke but the line for a MRI is 90 days. He may get his in 45 but I think that sucks for health care.

I have had extenstive medical procedures at the Syracuse, VA. I have never had to wait an unreasonable time for MRI's, eye apttts, and ect.

And as far as Medicad, do you realize how much of that budget goes for taxi rides! Way too much. Last week I took a lady and her daughter to the doctors. The meter registed $70 - one way!!!

    Uh huh.

The government run plan will be infinitely worse.

A bureaucrat or claims analyst (clerk) will someday decide whether the return justifies the espense of keeping one alive for what their ststatistics say will be an additional 90-180 days.

If not, they deny treatment and let one die. Government sponsored euthanasia?

They don't want to give God a chance to prove them wrong.
