There's a Wheaties beer now

Now you can have your Wheaties all day long.

Wheaties, the breakfast cereal of champions, has teamed up with a nearby craft brewery in Minneapolis to create a limited-edition Hefeweizen beer, appropriately called HefeWheaties.

North Dakota has the most bars per capita in the United States. There’s one bar for every 1,620 North Dakotans. It beats out Montana and also puts North Dakota well above Minnesota, which ranks 17th. Wisconsin comes in third with 3,043 bars for the 5.7 million that live in the state. That translates to one bar for every 1,877 Wisconsinite.


Top five metro areas in the US by bars per capita:

1. La Crosse, Wis. – One bar per 1,401 residents

2. Eau Claire, Wis. – One bar per 1,439 residents

3. Oshkosh-Neenah, Wis. – One bar per 1,644 residents

4. Duluth, Minn.-Superior, Wis. – One bar per 1,738 residents

5. Green Bay, Wis. – One bar per 1,910 residents

I would also point out that Minnesota has Sunday blue laws on liquor sales, meaning you can't go to a store and buy alcohol, you must buy it at a bar or restaurant. Wisconsin, no such laws. There are plenty of Minnesotans that drive to Wisconsin on Sundays to get their bottles of booze and beer.

BTW, after being a Vikings fan for as long as I can remember, I am boycotting them this year, not watching them, not following them, because of the Adrian Peterson incident(s), the cheating ownership, and the foul-mouthed coach.

Wheaties had a lot of advertisement that featured the former Bruce Jenner way back then. Saw Little Rock Congressman Brooks Hays say once that he couldn't eat Wheaties after he lost his Congressional seat because it was the breakfast of champions....
